Reading some threads, I see Cruz folks starting to sound like they're starting to buy the Trump Big Lie that Trump "won" the debate, and knocked Cruz out. Don't believe it for a second.
I can't be specific what I'm referring to. We'll just have to say it's interesting data from "a friend."
What I am seeing is national, not relating to Iowa specifically. And it's not a cross-section of Republicans, but it probably is a pretty good barometer of conservatives.
Based on what I'm seeing, Rubio is going absolutely, positively nowhere, and Trump is going downhill. Pretty big. Maybe not the final implosion, but MUCH bigger than just the day-to-day noise.
Combine this with the fact that we're not seeing any surge in voting registration in Iowa*, indicating that (sadly) Trump is NOT motivating huge new blocks of voters, and I don't know how he can win... unless Cruz people get disheartened by the nonsense being pumped out by Politico, CNN, and all the other left-wing Trump lovers.
(*Again, this is not a tell-all. Last-minute registrations and simply activating existing registered voters could be plenty to bring about astounding voter turnout. But it is a dog that's not barking. New registrations have in the past correlated with surges in caucus participation.)
Better Canadian than Kenyan.
FoxNews is pushing that Rubio was the winner. One consultant showed a Google poll that had Rubio as winner by double digits over the next contender. [IIRC, the #2 winner was Trump.]
FoxNews implies that Rubio is one of the front-runners now.
Weather for the Iowa caucuses may be a bit better than thought a few days ago. Possible cold and snow by Tuesday, but Monday clear and moderately cold.
Newsies/consultants kept trying to create a narrative that Trump supporters won’t show if the weather is bad, if the caucuses are at night, if it is Monday, if Bush is still in the race, if if if ...
I agree Rubio is likely to take second but unfortunately I see Ted falling to third or lower. Dr Carson may actually rebound to overtake him. Reciting the Constitution as a closing argument was an excellent tactic.
He could also be trying to grab the anyone but Trump vote.
Given that the majority of people view Trump negatively (I had read in one article that it is in the 60% range), most people don’t want him. Perhaps things will change as the field clears out, but Trump does not (cannot) win the nomination outright if most people vote for someone else besides him.
That should be in breaking news! Post a thread on it!!
What flavor are they passing out?
I suspect Trumps venom knows no bounds when/if someone may say or do something that HE don't like.....ill bred.
Perhaps many people in IOWA took his "Stupid" remark to heart. Let's hope many of them will say "shove off Mr. Bigshot", you have no idea what grassroots really means, go back to your ivory tower.
No, it’s you and me. You wouldn’t say “ such as I.”
My x-wife had a host if imaginary friends who always, always, always agreed with her.
They still consult with her often.
It will be interesting to see how the vote shake’s out after the caucus.
LS care to weigh in on this matter?
I have reconsidered my previous post and withdraw it. You were correct.
I will not lose heart and I pray the people of Iowa will come out and tell that pompous blow hart to go back to NY and his Ivory Tower, you know nothing of Iowa’s values and we recent being called STUPID (Freudian slip)
It was ok, we knew what was meant.
Wow, you are fast! You corrected me before I could!
First time this year.
“DONALD TRUMP [on Larry King Show (2009), referring to the then newly elected communist president”..........
Which one, odumbo or Putin?
ROTFL.... methinks the source of their rumor might just be one of them. <^..^>
