Posted on 01/29/2016 8:58:25 PM PST by Windflier

DO NOT VOTE ON THIS THREAD.

This is the nightly DISCUSSION thread for the ongoing 2016 Free Republic Caucus. Per caucus rules, no comments are allowed on the caucus thread itself - hence this open chat thread.

If you'd like to vote in the caucus, please look in the sidebar for the link, or check downthread here.

Thanks, and let 'er rip!

Windy

The results page will always have a thirty minute delay.

Think about it.

That link is on a page I post three minutes before the previous day’s voting ends. I can’t change that page once it’s posted. I have to post the link to a page that doesn’t exist.

I put a note right by that link explaining the lag time.

It takes me 20-30 minutes to tally the vote, verify it, check for validity, finalize, create graphics, post them, create a web page validate all links and post it.

If you keep trying before about thirty minutes after the hour, you will keep getting errors. That’s why I put the note there to warn folks.

??? I check when I vote the next morning. A couple of days this past week, I’ve checked back to see if it would work after clearing my cache.

The link on the discussion thread always works for me so far.

I’m not complaining about it at all. I guess I shouldn’t have mentioned it.
Sorry.

If you’re having the problem that much later, I need to know.

I don’t know why you could be having it. I go in there throughout the day to see if things are working okay, and I haven’t had a problem yet.

That doesn’t mean that others aren’t having a problem, so I am not sure what’s going on.

IF you can give me more information, time of day, which day, I’ll sure try to figure out what might have happened.

As I said, I’m wondering if it’s something weird with my computer because I’m having odd things at other places (Twitter, weather channel, the fabric website I frequent keeps giving me Page Cannot Be Displayed/ Can’t Connect To The Server)

I’ll get on DH’s Lenovo tomorrow & see what happens, probably 8 or 9 ish. And then holler at you here.

I usually vote between 6 & 8, 8:30 AM. That’s when I’ve tried to check the results, too- from the link on the voting page.

It could be that your company blocks certain sights too.

However, if you’re getting to the link page, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Something is going on if that link works from the after Caucus discussion thread.

(consolidating your 2 posts)

I’m on the computer at home- Time Warner. I don’t *think* it’s them because the Lenovo doesn’t have the fabric site problem & the WC is normal (San Antonio, not Wash DC).

What do you think (is going on)?

I’ve just learned to live with it until I can get my other computer online.
This laptop has been partially drowned twice, which is when the problems started. ??? (shrug)

Good Morning,

The results link on the voting thread worked fine this time. The NEXT button beside the graph 404ed.

It’s 7:59 AM, CST

I’m on my computer. I’ll check the Lenovo & see if it works better/ completely in a little bit.

The next button doesn’t work there because it links to today’s results that won’t be there until after today’s vote post is published.

Glad the first link worked for you.
