Konnichiwa! I am from Japan.
“”Konnichiwa! I am from Japan.””
Welcome to the US and to FR... I never knew how to spell your “hello” in Japanese but I learned to pronounce it in the fifties...I did not know it was spelled phonetically.. I should have figured that out...
How about:
Thank You
Goodbye
Yoi Shumatsu wo !
God Bless and welcome to our Republic!
I for one think that American conservatives need to make a better effort to reach out to conservative leaning people living (or from other places but live in the USA such as yourself) in other nations!
Welcome to America Tomoko. Happy to have you here and shortly as a fellow American citizen. I have been to Japan many times and I loved it there but was always happy to return to the US. I am certain you will realize your particular American dream. Again, Welcome to the US and good luck with whatever you choose to do.
“ping-ing” Laz for Bushidogrl? - are you crazy! She just got here, we don’t want to scare her off....
Beer , its not just a brain lubricant.. but a nectar from the Gods,, Bless you!
Welcome aboard. What part of the U.S. do you currently call home? (You don’t have to be TOO specific.)
:^)
- D
Matsutake and shibatake greetings to you.
Welcome to Free Republic.
I spent two years in Japan in the early eighties, but never had time to take any formal language lessons until I was in my thirties. I haven’t retained much.
You will find this an informative site, although it is often a vicious cat fight between people who are conservative across the board, and people who are conservative fiscally but liberal on social issues.
Howdy Grl.
What state are you living in? Ever been to Texas? The eats here are the best in the world.
Thanks for posting.
Is a Bush I Do Girl like a geisha?
Welcome aboard!
Welcome to America!
The best advice I can offer (since you had the courage to post) is grow a very thick skin as soon as possible.
People tend to speak very quickly here before considering how it will impact the listener. (Especially on social media like FR)
The war here is against liberals (socialists) who are guided more by their emotions than reason... and they use it as a weapon as well... so DO NOT let them get under your skin.
Good Luck!... looks like you learned your English well.
Welcome. My husband was stationed in Okinawa in the mid-70’s. He spent a bit of time in Japan, and really liked it.
Welcome aboard!
Hai, and Welcome. I spent a summer living in Tokyo (Nakai, Shinjuku ward) and enjoyed every moment. Lots of memories; been to the temple at Nikko and many other places. Loved Japanese TV!!
Tomoko-san,
Welcome aboard. Having spent 6 years in Okinawa, I love Japan. Only wish that I had learned more of the language.
Now it’s kampai time.
Irasshaimase!
Hey: BushidÅ, (æ¦å£«é?) literally meaning “the way of the warrior”, is a Japanese word for the way of the samurai life, loosely analogous to the concept of chivalry.
Ohayo gozaimas. Yo e shoo matsuo.
