Ted Cruz just announced in an Iowa speech (broadcast live by C-Span at 7:10 CST Wednesday) ...
inviting Donald Trump to a one-on-one ("mano-amano" Ted Cruz quote) ...
debate this coming Saturday night ...
at Iowa Western University @ 8:00 PM-EST
moderated by Donald Trump's choice of either Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin or Sean Hannity ...
or all three (if Donald Trump wishes).
Jim Robinson ... since this thread is based on a "live" news event, I'm unable to provide a proper internet link.

RNC forbids 1 on 1 unsanctioned debates. What Cruz is proposing is breaking the rules. Trumpâs not stupid, and he is certainly not going to allow Cruz to control the narrative with his pathetic âchallengeâ.
Trump has scheduled 2 rallies for the day—one being in Davenport, IA for an evening debate...
Council Bluffs is 5 hours away from Davenport?!?!?
Is Trump expected to cancel his rally?
Ted needs to stop tagging along after Trump and do something entirely on his own.
Brilliant move on the part of Cruz. If Donald accepts, Cruz will mop up in a one on one debate.
If Trump declines he looks like a coward. Either way Cruz wins.
“The master debater had six cracks at Trump.”
That, plus, the incredible lawyer is too scared to go to court to straighten out his NBC cloud.
BWAAAAHAHaHa. If the three most conservative media people in the industry scare you and your guy...you’re backing the wrong horse.
Ted is desperate.
Why would Cruz invite Trump to a debate in Council Bluffs??

Yes, heâs a god. What was I thinkinâ of backing Cruz?
My wife sent Cruz money twice, what was she thinking and putting a Cruz to victory bumper sticker on the car.
We both changed our mind and are going to work at the Caucus as Trump people at the precinct level, and volunteered to be in the pool of delegates at the state level.
Its been decades since we left New York where we went to school and worked for Rudy to beat Dinkins, and went to his inaugural.
We were proud to be Texan, Jerseyites , Pennsylvanians, Floridians, Nevadans and New Yorkers.
In all those states lot of Ex Pat New Yorkers live, most still have New York friends and families. We Dropped Cruz after his New York values remark.
I can tell you Ex Pat New Yorkers all over the country became Trump loyalists thanks to Cruz.
I am Zenjitsuman, and Karate Black belt for 40 years, and if when I lived in Texas Cruz’s home state for 3 years I loved being in Texas, loved the people of Texas, the freedom of Texas and its patriotic spirit. Don’t mess with Texas was my favorite phrase.
Well I would have beat the crap out of anyone who messed or dissed Texas then or now that I live in Nevada, I still have friends in Texas.
We are all Americans. My Father rest his soul fought 4 years in WWII for America not New York where he was born and raised. We pick no place in America to disrespect, well maybe Chicago, Obama’s home, but that is another story.
We even Love Chicago food, and the suburbs.
My point is we are all Americans and we want to make America great again.
Who said Trump is scared?
Not a GOPe sanctioned debate—who knows could be a trap of sorts by GOPe to prevent Trump from attending future debates...
Trump has 2 rallies that day...one at 6:30 in Davenport—it is 5 hours from where Cruz has scheduled this “debate” What, is Trump supposed to just up and cancel?
I would if Trump matches all donations.
Rubio ate Ted’s lunch in that last debate.
LOl
What I don’t understand, is why are we facing this issue every four year?
Nobody is born here?
Even McCain was born in Panama.
I believe McCain is legit, two U.S. Parents.
It is so strange that this basic issue is such a tough hurdle for POTUS.
Agreed.
Seems a simple enough concept.
I don’t mean to lump Ted in with him, but Obama is such an important example of why this is so vitally important.
Trump has already told M2Ted he would only debate in Canada.
This is Teddy posturing for attention. Nothing more.
“Cruz will donate $1.5 million.”
Where’s Cruz going to get $1.5million. Oh, never mind.
lol, I hear Goldman Sachs has plenty of money. ;)
