Atlanta, Georgia, couple are repeatedly accused of stealing iPhones, Android phones, and other cellular phones when people track their missing phones to their houses by using their phone tracking software, which insists the missing phone is in their house, but the phones are never there. No one knows WHY their house is a missing cellular device magnet, but the couple is fearful of encountering an irate phone owner who may refuse to accept the explanations, and become violent. -- PING!

Some jailbreak software for stolen phones is probably attaching their home IP address or GPS location to the phones when someone clicks on “find my iPhone”.

The simplest explanation is that triangulation defaults to their address at the dead center point between three towers.

"All triangulation does is draw a line equidistant between three cell towers and if your house is on that line you'll get visits," Woodward said. "I don't have enough data to know exactly what's going on but I wouldn't be at all surprised [if it was a triangulation error]."
