Back in 1990 Trump might have littered. Cruz might be an alien. Someone tweeted that Trump said he wants to shoot someone. Cruz is in the pocket of the big banks because of where his wife works.

I've never seen anything like this. Some FR folks are evidently searching the Internet for rumors and gossip, then posting it here as fact. Thank goodness for the Kitty ping. It's the main reason I stop by at FR these days.

Another good point I had not thought of. I had only suspected our own home grown sophomores taking up IHOP space for the Free WiFi, maybe even in the mothers basement.

The type of discourse they use is certainly not that of an adult.

Trump has been in the media/tabloid’s eye since the 70’s. There isn’t some surprise coming. And the smears have been going in both directions.

You think this presidential race is nasty? The Founding Fathers had it beat. In the race between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson for president in 1800, Jefferson called Adams “a blind, bald, crippled, toothless man who is a hideous hermaphroditic character with neither the force and fitness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.”

In turn, Adams called Jefferson “a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia mulatto father.”

Compare these with the relative politeness of today.

Do you actually think the Clinton email data will have anything detrimental to the Clintons? It will contain notes of congratulations, wedding invitations, etc. Trump has already been very up front about dealing with the Clintons and that will just support what he has said.

Do I care if he told Hillary congratulations on her election as Senator? Do I care that he invited her to his wedding? No, I don’t care.

Cruz has received treatment here more befitting of a media/tabloid Trump-like figure. He is anything but. I find it revolting. And don't underestimate the Clinton's.

You are right. But we here at Free Republic don’t seem to mirror what the average American is thinking. That’s why I’m wondering where the vitriol toward Senator Cruz we see here is REALLY coming from. Are these really Trump supporters, or are they actually Hillary/Obama trolls who are playing us for fools to the point that we give up and don’t even vote? Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Trump melted down her facebook page (NOT in a positive way) and caused Cruz to get $700,000 in donations in less than a day in response. The same day on this site it was, “Cruz is done”, “Cruz is toast”...It just doesn’t seem to add up somehow...

We're already to the "nasty supporters of (X) have driven me into the arms of opponent (Y)" stage, so it's starting to collapse under the weight of its own illogic.

Hush, you'll spoil the fun. I'll take a gently dissenting position, possibly because I've been around long enough to have seen it all before. It is a good thing to see the passion, even if exhausting and occasionally infuriating. These are all - well, mostly - good people who care desperately about their country. They are not sheep. They are the bedrock on which the country rests, every silly one of them.

We have to have this. We have to have the debate, the fury, and, unfortunately, the unfairness that passionate people always bring to the table. We have to have the pettiness, the sanctimony, the rudeness, the absolutism, because these are the blemishes on the flesh of something great. I don't think you can have the greatness without the blemishes.

That said, when my man Yeb! gets in I plan on crushing all of you under the iron boot-heel of domination. But in the nicest possible way.

Good to see you here, seems like it’s been a while? They don’t call it silly season for nothing, lol. People do get carried away. I’ve been guilty of it myself. I will say, if the party tries to pull any crap at the convention to block either Trump or Cruz, I suspect they’ll be surprised at the voter reaction. It won’t go over well at all, and will cost them the election, whether to Democrats or something else, that remains to be seen.

It certainly doesn't. The Romney issue before became very ugly in here, but not like what I am seeing and reading in this election.....

I don't know what to think of it, it is just UGLY to the bone...and soul.
