A friend told me a co-worker and her family lost TriCare Coverage without notice in early January. When she investigated, she was told a “glitch” in the interface between DEERS and TriCare caused the problem and a quarter-million families were affected. There was no projected date for the problem to be resolved. I have heard squat about this in the media.
Looking to my FreeRepublic family to report if you know of anyone caught up in this latest guberment snafu. It is being pursued through Congressional and American Legion contacts.
Please help me raise the temperature on the latest abuse to those who have served their country.
Is it Tricare for active duty, Tricare for Life or Tricare Prime? I can’t seem to find anything.
I believe those impacted were reservists who were eligible for coverage. I do not know the flavor of TriCare.
Under any other regime, I could believe "glitch". Under caliph 0bama, I have serious doubts.
The form of Tricare is not mentioned. There is Tricare Prime for those under 65 and Tricare Life for those over 65.
For Tricare Life, Medicare is filed first and they file Tricare Life. SO far Both have paid the medical bills in our household. Hubby is Ret. SCPO over 65. And so am I as spouse. He does not qualify for VA care.. money cap, but does come under a 10% hearing disability for jet engine hearing loss.
Tricare LIFE...DOD MANDATES all daily meds be gotten from either Military Dispensary as of 2015, 2014 was a trial run. Or mail order from Express Scripts. Known in several states for fraud lawsuits. If you chose to use a private pharmacy you will pay full price for your meds. There are a few exceptions, a 1 time fill for pain meds for after surgery, an antibiotic prescribed by ER. Or med prescribed by an ER. Once a med becomes a daily med you must use the Base Dispensary or Express Scripts.
I just picked up 2 scripts I take daily yesterday, no issue. Just got the statements in from the full Cardio work up and the Hematologist, other than the provider being under paid they were paid what both systems allow.
Not hearing any grumbling on Tricare Life...so this must be Tricare Prime. They would have a secondary private insurance or should have.
