Uncovering Holocaust perpetrators where few have looked
Muslim Nazis, female death camp guards, and Dutch ‘bounty hunters’ are coming out of the archival closet, even as fewer Shoah eyewitnesses remain alive to testify
BOSTON ~ With new access to archives and other primary sources, historians are supplanting archetypal images of Aryan Nazi men as the Holocaust's sole perpetrators. Previously obscured perpetrator "sub-groups" are being exposed one portrait at a time, ranging from women who guarded death camps to Dutch bounty hunters of Jews in hiding.
And as researchers uncover an array of Europeans involved in the murder of Jews and other groups during Hitler's rule, perpetrators' motivations are being individually examined.
Digging in 70-year-old files and knocking door-to-door for witnesses, scholars are honing the relatively new "Holocaust as local history" method. The trend departs from a generalized "Holocaust as universal history" approach by focusing on interactions between "ordinary" victims and perpetrators ~ zooming way in on the action, as it were, and exploring a site’s history before and after the war.
Unsurprisingly, some of these investigations are ruffling feathers.

Those responsible for millions of deaths on the Communist side were never brought to justice either.
So like 10 were hanged at Nuremberg (Goering committed suicide) and Eichmann was hanged in Israel to atone for their responsibility in the slaughter of so many people. Eleven. The rest escaped, a lot of them through the Vatican with Red Cross passports to South America notably Argentina. As for Democrats a good place to start would be with FDR.

There were a very large number of Japanese convicted after the war...just was not a great movie about them.
That would be nice if the next U.S. President made sure that anyone causing harm to ANY American anywhere would pay the price. Remember the killer of Leon Klinghofer? Captured during the American raid in Iraq and mysteriously died in U.S. custody. Supposedly he had heart problems. Karma is a bitch.
If any are still alive, they are in their 90s. How about we look at those who are committing genocides TODAY, and are promising more? Now, looking at the map, where shall we begin.... hmmmm

Here’s the good part, its isn’t an either or. You go after them all.
Some were rewarded by being initiated into the Order of the Hempen Necktie.
Many of the Japanese prison guards did get away with murder and torture. I have a friend that is still alive but in very poor health that made sure some did not. When he is gone it is my hope the family tells his story. They are on the fence right now but we are working on them to publish. This involves the camps that were at the end of the Bataan Death trail.
