Iran state television released images of the 10 U.S. sailors that the Iranian military held in custody overnight Tuesday.
ABC News first reported the photos, which appeared after the sailors were released by Iranâs Revolutionary Guard Corps Wednesday morning.

I’ll bet you a dollar to a donut they were told to stand down.
Be all that you can be Apologise in the navy. We dont fight we surrender and apologize. Navy vets whould be doing face plants
And while that was happening, our Secretary Of State was tweeting about big blocks of cheese.
“...Navy vets whould be doing face plants”
Trust me...we are!!!
It is so dangerous to be serving with the needle 6ick @ocksucker in the white house...you just never know if he’s got your back or gonna push you in the back...
I swear to God I can’t wait for someone that loves America to be in the white house again.
Exactly. They hold them on the day he makes his State of the Union address and humiliate him just like they humiliated Carter. If I didn’t know better, I’d think they had enough of his wishy-washy, pansy BS just like everyone else and were doing everything they can to get a Republican to win too.
This certainly not the Marine Corps I served with during the Vietnam era. Below is the letter I sent to Senators and my Congressman. I sent the letter and the gender neutral article to my high school alumni who served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam. We are of the opinion the armed forces have been irreparably broken.
Be sure to check out the photo of Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. He looks to me like someone who should be holding personnel seminars at Health and Human Services. I would not want to have anything to do with the gooey product resulting from the fulfillment of his vision. I think it is time to retire the service dress blues for a mauve uniform with a pink stripe and fashionable French berets.
Considering the defense secretary claimed a long period of study and vigorous debate, I maintain discussion was among those mutually supportive creatures that have metastasized throughout the military to serve the LGBT and feminist social agendas. Most of the points I highlight below about women in combat first arose when the decision was imposed to do away with DADT. A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up this needless disaster.
LETTER SENT TO MY COGRESSMAN AND ALL SENATORS
The Tragedy of Women in Combat
Ash Carterâs announcement demonstrates this Administrationâs attachment to a political ideology fueled by arrogance and premeditated ignorance. Any long period of study and vigorous debate has been among those mutually supportive creatures that have metastasized throughout the military to serve a social agenda bringing future needless devastation. Most of the points I highlight about women in combat arose first when the decision was made to do away with DADT. A lot of good men are going to have to die in years to come to cover up this disaster.
This tragedy of women in combat provides another reason I now always council men to never enter the armed forces. Social engineering that amalgamates feminist ideals everywhere has now become the over arching imperative to which all operational capabilities must submit.
However, combat operations too often demand unpredictably and unimaginably exhausting brutality to achieve victory. Therefore, only the highest physical abilities and most severe restrictions on human emotions and behaviors can foster the required high morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion required.
Human sexuality simply cannot intrude into this sub-culture where only those displaying the greatest savagery and endurance can hope to win. Resorting to war for national defense entails the ultimate Olympics of conflict occurring at the bleeding edge of existence where the unbelievable becomes the possible. Here there is much less excuse for merging men and women into these struggles than exists for the athletic competitions held every four years.
Combat forms personnel into small, rigid, task oriented units. These people continuously face extraordinary stress punctuated by killing other humans. At the point of collision, they undertake actions requiring sacrificial, primitive and intimate actions. Such environments are inherently chaotic, barbaric, and brittle. They can be overcome only by a totalitarian leadership and narrow focus unimaginable for those who see any opportunity for the social alchemy popular in civilian life.
The regimental combat teams for infantry, mechanized and armored units are now the playthings of bureaucrats committed to equal opportunity and affirmative action. They are dismissive of warriors enduring the brutal carnage imperative for victory. Institutional memories no longer exist for fighting ferocious, shrewd enemies such as the Germans, Japanese, Chinese, and North Vietnamese, who utilized a full array of modern weapons. If one notes the ribbons on any senior officerâs uniform, they show they fought only Arabs the Israelis beat three times at 20 to 1 odds. Such people now question the necessity for high standards which do not obfuscate or allow inferior female performance.
Women not only do not belong at the pointy end of the spear, but should not be holding it to the extent the combat arms must depend on their savagery. As this tragedy unfolds I will remember the quote that, âMen sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalfâ.Â

Marine Corps boot camp, job titles to be gender neutral by April

Iran subscribes to the image of US as a paper tiger. They will push against us relentlessly because we are cowards.
The Iranian video shows a couple bass-fishing boats surrounding the larger two US boats. The US boats were armed with several M-2's at minimum. Maybe there were other, larger Iranian ships in the vicinity?
Also, how do two US boats have "navigation problems" at the same time?
The only conclusion is "of course" they were told to stand-down. The Iranians probably captured these US sailors with a stern word and water pistol
Hussein Heads are overjoyed today.
Their god spoke last night and told them all is well.
Prayerrs for our aailors..I am too angry to address this...I have no faith in their CIC.
I was wondering something similar ....that in a few weeks, we’ll hear about their urgent pleas for help.
But none came.
Where was their radar/satellite support, warning about approaching vessels?
I rarely pull out my dusty old trident, but in this case, here goes. I was a Navy SEAL officer in the 1980s, and this kind of operation (transiting small boats in foreign waters) was our bread and butter. Today, these boats both not only had radar, but multiple GPS devices, including chart plotters that place your boat’s icon right on the chart. The claim by Iran that the USN boats “strayed into Iranian waters” is complete bull$#it.
For an open-water transit between nations, the course is studied and planned in advance by the leaders of the Riverine Squadron, with specific attention given to staying wide and clear of any hostile nation’s claimed territorial waters. The boats are given a complete mechanical check before departure, and they have sufficient fuel to accomplish their mission plus extra. If, for some unexplainable and rare circumstance one boat broke down, the other would tow it, that’s why two boats go on these trips and not one! It’s called “self-rescue” and it’s SOP.
This entire situation is in my area of expertise. I can state with complete confidence that both Iran and our own State Department are lying. The boats did not enter Iranian waters. They were overtaken in international waters by Iranian patrol boats that were so superior in both speed and firepower that it became a “hands up!” situation, with automatic cannons in the 40mm to 76mm range pointed at them point-blank. Surrender, hands up, or be blown out of the water. I assume that the Iranians had an English speaker on a loudspeaker to make the demand. This takedown was no accident or coincidence, it was a planned slap across America’s face.
Just watch. The released sailors will be ordered not to say a word about the incident, and the Iranians will have taken every GPS device, chart-plotters etc off the boats, so that we will not be able to prove where our boats were taken.
The “strayed into Iranian waters” story being put out by Iran and our groveling and appeasing State Dept. is utter and complete BS from one end to the other.
Bank on it.
Maybe Barack was sending Flowers ?
Do you think either Obama or Mabus gives a tinker’s damn about readiness or the well being of the military? Not a chance.
You would think that with Iran fooling around with one of our aircraft carriers several days ago that we wouldn’t be sending out boats armed with only machine guns without heavy backup in this area.
Obama is dumber than dog food.
I was also a commissioned officer in the same time frame as you. My first reaction was, did they throw sensitive items overboard when they saw the Iranians coming or decided they could not resist? How could two boats break down at the same time or stray into Iranian waters with all the technology available today. And the SOP you mentioned was SOP in our day but who knows what Obama has done to readiness now. Also, who was the senior officer on board and how did he allow this to happen?
What is a woman doing there?
Obama is turning us into surrender monkeys.
BBC ran a story we apologized. White House denied it. Iran showed one of the hostages apologizing.
Weakness isn’t the way to handle Arabs.
