I knew he would do this.
I called at a couple of weeks ago.
He is “negotiating”.
It is what he does.

I think he is just clarifying what he first said that the media twisted. In other words, he’s consistent but has to do damage control because of a dishonest media.

Donald Trump said late Tuesday that he would compromise on his call for banning foreign Muslims from coming to the U.S. under the right circumstances.

Judging from Trump's always changing positions on everything, is there anything he will not compromise on "under the right circumstances"?

“They are very strong positions, and I would adhere to those positions very strongly,” he said. “

So let me see if I get this from the Cruz people.

The position they all said was unconstitutional and were rubbing their hands with glee because they hoped this would be the end of him. The position that Cruz said was “not his”, is the one they are now trying to pretend that “oh he doesn’t really believe in that” as some goofy attempt to....what again?

Yes he is going to push the issue, but he deals with congress, so there will be give and take.

Just like when Cruz boasts he is going to do XY and Z, and you guys just assume that he is just going to pass it through congress with no give and take because....reasons?

If he gets 90% of this, that is STILL 90% more than Cruz’s plan of not even trying.

Trump could be married to a Muslim before the year is up.

from source:

“I’m not saying there can’t be some give and take,” Trump answered, “but at some point we have to look at these things. You look at the radical Islamic terrorism and you look at what’s going on, we have to take a serious look. There’s tremendous hatred. You look at illegal immigration and all that’s taking place with respect to illegal immigration, whether it’s the crime or the economy, I mean it affects many, many different elements. It doesn’t mean I’m hard and fast 100 percent, but we have to get a lot of what I’m asking for, or we’re not going to have a country any more.”

“They [Muslim ban] are very strong positions,” Trump said. “It doesn’t mean you’re not going to negotiate a little bit, but I guess there will always be some negotiation. But they are very strong positions. And I would adhere to those positions very strongly. That doesn’t mean that at some point we won’t talk a little bit about some negotiation. who wouldn’t do that?”

This is CONSISTENT with earlier statements that diplomats, members of the military, legitimate businessmen, and athletes would be permitted entry during the moratorium.

Aw, hell! I was hoping he’d make the ban retroactive, but apparently it is radioactive. Trump might have been our final hope to reverse the tide.
