“They are very strong positions, and I would adhere to those positions very strongly,” he said. “

So let me see if I get this from the Cruz people.

The position they all said was unconstitutional and were rubbing their hands with glee because they hoped this would be the end of him. The position that Cruz said was “not his”, is the one they are now trying to pretend that “oh he doesn’t really believe in that” as some goofy attempt to....what again?

Yes he is going to push the issue, but he deals with congress, so there will be give and take.

Just like when Cruz boasts he is going to do XY and Z, and you guys just assume that he is just going to pass it through congress with no give and take because....reasons?

If he gets 90% of this, that is STILL 90% more than Cruz’s plan of not even trying.

We guys? Trump’s manner of speech (strong positions strongly) sounds rather like GW’s: “We’re working hard, really hard... hardly...” What a statesman!

Oh, and for the record, putting a moratorium on immigration from Islamic countries is not unconstitutional. Cruz never said it was and - obviously - Trump didn’t mean it anyway.

Please don't categorize all of us Cruz people in that manner. I've posted on those threads and don't recall expressing any Constituional reservations.

BTW, I don't want to see the end of Trump, at least not yet. All the fire that Cruz might have drawn is largely going Trump's way. The enemedia and the GOP-E are fit to be tied, and it is all because if you take out Cruz you get Trump, and if you take out Trump, you get Cruz. Let's see Trump do well in the delegate heavy northeast, Cruz do well in the west, and duke it out in the south and the midwest. The bad guys can't even agree which one they fear more.

The longer there is no Establishment tier 1 candidate, the better.

It boils down to: who are you going to believe?

1. PROVEN liars, who have proven they are liars time after time, or 2. Someone who has not been proven yet to be a liar.

In 2012 the Repubs said, oh, if you give us the Senate, we will:
*Repeal Obamacare
*Secure the border
*Deport illegals
*Reduce spending
*Reduce deficit
etc etc.

They-—including Cruz-—did none of those things. They LIED.

Did some “try”, like Cruz? Yes, I’m sure. But in the REAL world, in business, you get the job done or you don’t.

I worked in corporations for years. If the Senior Vice President of Widgets didn’t get the widgets produced, didn’t get his “nut”, or goal or quota, he was gone. The economy was bad? Winter was bad? The Widget biz was off? Sorry. He still was gone, AND his management team. Gone.

When a football team fires its head coach for losing, the assistant coaches go too in almost every case, rarely are one or two kept. Unfair? Yes. But we hired you to WIN. You didn’t.

I was assigned a project. It didn’t work out because I couldn’t schmooze or motivate or threaten someone into completing a key task in the project. When my review came, my boss said I FAILED. I said, but so-and-so wouldn’t do what was necessary for me to succeed! My boss said, well, maybe somebody else COULD have got that person to do it. And he was exactly right.

So-—you can believe known, proven, world-class, in-your-face liars like Reince Preibus, McConnell, Ryan, and all of them, OR you can give the guy a try who has a great game and hasn’t yet had a chance to betray you or lie to you.

Which is it? Proven liar who we KNOW will not do what he says, or very possibly a man who will do what he says he’ll do.

The entire GOP congressional delegation failed. I say kick them all out.
