So what if he is?
If Trump wants to start falsifying the reason behind Cruz's amendments in the Gang of 8 Bill the way Rubio did, he should be prepared to be taken to task for it the way Levin and Rush did Rubio.
Cruz is one guy Trump better have his info straight on before he speaks. Cruz will dice him up in a straight on debate.
On every issue Trump named in his announcement speech, it could be said to be the other way around. The only issues he didn't copy from Cruz ... he didn't take a position on religious liberty or abolishing the IRS.
Dice him up with the Sword of Truth!
LOL OK Donnie sure.
Cruz does not do personal attacks, but he will have no problem dissecting Donald’s false claims on matters of policy. The next debate could be very interesting.
I do not care who copies who in wanting to build the wall... ALL presidential nominees need to commit to building it.
Immitation is the most sincere form of flattery!!!
“Immitation is the most sincere form of flattery!!!”
True. In this case, however, Trump is imitating Cruz.
Trump is saying great things, but this line about Cruz is simply factually incorrect.

âMy position is very simple. I oppose amnesty. I oppose citizenship. I oppose legalization ⦠Today, tomorrow, forever. I believe in the rule of law.â
He added: âWe can enforce the laws. We can secure our borders. We can keep our country safe. And at the same time, we can continue to welcome and celebrate the legal immigrants who follow the rules and wait in line pursuant to our rules.â
Cruzâs critics tried to compare those remarks to the infamous 1963 speech by Alabama Gov. George Wallace that declared: âSegregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.â
Yes they should, and Presidential candidates should also have enough integrity not to make false statements. This is a statement that is easily proven to be false.
Trump is a say-anything moral weathervane attention whore.
Supporters would be hard pressed to admit they’d volunteerily work with / for reality show loud mouth or hire him to manage their money.
“The Don” is an evermore embarassing populist political act.
We need a capable trustworthy adult to listen, understand and help run our nation’s affairs constitutionally.
Cruz 2016.
You summed it up nicely!
And therin lies my biggest single objection to Donald Trump. I’m not big on policy wonks with rehearsed speeches (like Rubio), but Trump’s knowledge of the issues is, by and large, only one soundbite deep. I’ve seen no indication that he has any sense of history or bothers to educate himself on the cause and effect relationships of the challenges facing America today.
Can they say they are agreeing instead of copying?
Very true. I like them both for different reasons and believe they would compliment each other on a Trump/Cruz ticket.
