African-American males are only six percent of the United States population, but comprise nearly 70 percent of the players in the National Football League. When we focus on the sport's high collision positions, the number of African Americans playing by percentage rises substantially. Nearly 30 percent of white NFL players are kickers, punters, or quarterbacks, all positions that have a much lower chance of being involved in concussion-causing collisions. With nearly 1,200 of the NFL's 1,700 players being black, football's concussion problem is also clearly a racial problem.
For decades, young black men have laid themselves on the line for a game which has given most of them very little back in exchange. They have risked their bodies and minds to make millions for universities, and were compensated only with scholarships and the slim chance of an NFL contract. So how and why have families been tricked into sending so many young boys off to play this dangerous game? Black lives must matter on the field, as well as on the streets.

Football employees a lot of men who would have been working on garbage trucks, in mills (nothing wrong with that either), or high school coaches instead of becoming instant millionaires when they signed on as rookie players.
Playing sports is a choice for most people, not a “need” but many black players would have been working in low level or middle level jobs and never would obtain the standards of living they now have, and their chance to help others as many generously do.
Sports safety is a non-racial issue, period. Only a Marxist/racist could make it into one.

Exactly. They could go to engineering school instead. Calculus may give you a minor headache but it won't give you a concussion.

The only course of action is to prohibit all blacks from the game! No black youth, no black teen or black adult “shall” be allowed hence forth to compete in a game of risk verses reward ever again! We must protect them at all costs! Black lives matter, damn it!
Kill the game out right, or better yet..Force open mouth, breeding whites, from the farm, fly over county to suffer the ravages of competing, striving and building a better life for their family’s!

Cardinal, If you are referring to Stanford, they are a color, not birds. Of course you might be a fan of Phoenix... I refuse to stop referring to Stanford as the Indians, because “Cardinal” just doesn’t make sense and Indian was a perfectly serviceable mascot anyway..
Reaction will be as follows - there will be denial that there are any ill effects, and when there is evidence (both real evidence as well as assumed 'evidence') then you will see subtle changes to the game (eg using one's head/helmet as a battering ram will be frowned on). That should largely sort the issue, and there is an issue if we are honest about it, but unfortunately the nanny state and concern trolls will not stop there. They will want kids not to play - for their safety.
The best way to make me a racist is for these idiots to keep whining about how peanut butter, oxygen and everything that comes along are racist.
If black players were not put in those positions, we would be reading about how THAT is racist.

First paragraph makes point that black men make up most of NFL despite being a minority. Second paragraph complained about how slim the chances a black college player has of getting into the NFL....
Funny, no one taking issue with hockey players ( all colors ) getting their teeth knocked out due to collisions or high velocity vulcanized rubber.
