Archie Bunker should be Number One, hands down, end of story.

The idiots who made the list have a picture of Steve Martin for Sgt. Bilko!Sad, isn't it?
From wikipedia: The 1962 film The Manchurian Candidate used the names of several people associated with Sgt. Bilko for the members of a Korean War patrol - Cpl. Allan Melvin, Pvt. Silvers, Pvt. Hiken, and Pvt. Lembeck.
I did not know that.
In 1987 a British tourist visiting Tibet wearing a Phil Silvers "Sgt. Bilko" T-shirt had Chinese soldiers attempt to rip it off her because they thought the picture was the Dalai Lama.

It's a pretty good list. But where are the misfits from WKRP in Cincinnati?

You guys are slowing down. It took over three minutes for someone to comment on Loni Anderson’s physical attributes.

They included Buddy Sorrell but not Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke himself)?
I know Bill Cosby is unpopular these days, but Heathcliff Huxtable ranks higher than any number of the characters listed.

Some of the names listed at the website are questionable. Some of the series ran only one season. Several of those I never watched nor heard of the character.
There are many other series that have much more recognizeable characters, as those series lasted for several-to-many seasons. Many of them are STILL in reruns on various TV channels.
