I follow Christ, however, I’m NOT Christ. So I guess this is just a sin I’m being redeemed for. Yet another of my failings. In the meantime, don’t try a stick up on me at the ATM. It would be a bad temporal move and might case me to sin.
See how it works?
Usually spouted by secularists who don't understand Christianity, or by main-line, uber-liberal pseudo-Christian church goers.
Even pacifist evangelicals don't believe that meme.
Its not that you have a right to the defense of yourself and your family - but a duty. These things I even learned in a Jesuit theology class.
Excellent commentary
Nicely done.
Concealed carry garment for a howitzer.
“if you carry a gun, you’re not a Christian,” meme.

Ive never heard that one....
IIRC, Jesus said he would return with a SWORD.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition
Also, I think a lot of atheists and liberals (same thing?) confuse the sixth Commandment, ‘Thou shall not kill’, which in the proper context and translation from hebrew and the Jewish Tora means instead “Thou shall not MURDER”. (King James revisionism didn’t help the christian cause much)., I define murder as the taking of innocent human life.
So it isn’t “killing” that is a sin, if done for the right reasons (just war, self defense, capital punishment). In fact, “Killing” is totally unavoidable if one is to live and consume food, plant or animal. The left just loves to try to inflict guilt at absolutely every opportunity to advance it’s agenda.
The God given natural rights and God given natural duty to preserve and protect natural rights are two sides of the same coin and are a logical unity. They are evident branches of the first law of nature which is self preservation.
To be ready to defend one's family----protecting one's self is also a part of protecting one's family----and protecting others is not only a duty, but it is virtuous.
“He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment & buy one” Jesus - Luke 22:36
Jesus did not turn the other cheek when he took the whip to the money changers at the Temple
If that is true, did Peter disarm the Roman Centurion and us his sword to lop off his ear?
Not likely. Peter used his own sword.
Sword in that day equals firearm in this day.
“When Jesus donned his robe, he didn’t strap on a Glock. Though if ever there was conceal-carry friendly apparel, it was a flowing robe.”
Well, he did make a whip and drove some dudes from a temple.
Irony?
You should be the Jesse Watters to Jesse Watters new program, as Jesse Watters was to The O Reilly Factor.
I hope Jesse is listening.
