Bombshell new reports have suggested that a major GOP candidate who was once looked at as a possible frontrunner is preparing to drop out of the race.
According to The Political Insider, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's campaign is going so poorly that he has significantly cut the salaries of his staff. This is typically a sign that someone's campaign is about to come to an end.
Hogan Gidley, the campaign's senior communications adviser, confirmed the salary cuts for senior staff members on Thursday. However, he claimed the decision was made several months ago, which seems unlikely.
"We made some adjustments to senior staff salaries several months ago because we wanted to put those resources into people in Iowa," Gidley said Thursday.
Reports appear to contradict this though, as it appears the salary cuts were made in recent weeks, coinciding with Huckabee spokeswoman Alice Stewart's abrupt departure earlier this week.
Though Huckabee won the Iowa caucuses in 2008, he is currently polling between 1% and 3% in the crucial state. It appears that his days in this presidential race are numbered.
Hopefully this is his last Presidential campaign.
LOL
well done
“Hello Roger, This is Mike, yes, THAT Mike. You predicted I would be calling you before Christmas. Well, here it is.
“Just letting you know that come January 2016, I WILL be available to host your 5pm to 6.30pm slot on weekends, after all! I would be eager, honored and delighted to rejoin the wonderful Fox News Famil—. Hello? Hello? I must have gotten cut off AGAIN!! Strange. Third time today.”
Major candidate? I guess nowadays, anyone polling over 1% is considered a "major candidate." That still leaves Lindsey on the outside looking in!
Was he ever in?
Anyone else take the hint?
This is no bombshell.
+/- 6.9% MOE pretty much makes this poll a joke.
*yawn*
Maybe it will be like the 12 tossing in the towels of Christmas leaving only 2. That would be Trump and Cruz.
Back to the $3.5 million gulf shore hideaway.
Even with that MOE, it’s obvious that (at least) half those candidates have no chance of winning and no influence
By who?
Bombshell? Major candidate? Funny stuff here.
....and who is this "Mr. Conservative" at the link, anyhow?
Sheesh, if he ever came upon a REAL bombshell he'd probably implode.
Leni
When is Little Jebbie dropping out?
BOMBSHELL????
Dude.
That’s not even a sparkler.
He will probably try to float a little longer.
Several weeks ago, similar rumors were floating about Rand Paul dropping out.
Who’s that?
