Microsoft Online Store has some discounts in time for the holiday but you would need to act fast
Microsoft Corporation is holding a sale to celebrate the holiday season. Its online store is all dressed up with seasonal spirit for a sale, the highlights of which include Surface Pro 3, Surface 3 and Microsoft Band 2 discounts.
The 128GB, Intel Core i3 version of the Surface Pro 3 usually retails for $899, but the discounted price puts it a $599, a $300 reduction a saving of 33%. Plus, the optional Type Cover keyboard, a portable, roll-out QWERTY keyboard will now cost $70, not $129. The Surface line-up has been a hit for Microsoft, the Surface Pro 4 is already out, and gathering positive reviews.
The Surface 3 64GB variant is discounted to the tune of $100, priced at $399. Microsoft has also discounted its fitness band line, the Band 2 can be yours for $199 instead $249, a $50 discount. The fitness bandâs best bit is that it doesnât tie you down to the Windows platform but can pair up with iOS and Android smartphones.
These deals and discounts are not just for tech buyers. There are discounts for gamers too. If youâre planning on to getting an Xbox One console, then Microsoft will drop $50 from the price, throw in a free game and chip in a $50 Microsoft Store gift code.
Deals on selected Windows 10 laptops, accessories, and Lumia devices are also available an the Microsoft Online Store, although there is a catch. Itâs that the deals run only until the end of the weekend so anyone interested will have to get going and log in right away. Microsoftâs online store can be found via this link.
What are we doing running ads for Microsoft?
We're not. I just thought this might be of interest to the FR Windows crowd, if they're still looking for technology that was previously too pricey to consider (lots of comments about that problem in earlier threads). I've had to ping the Windows list with a lot of downer news about Windows and Microsoft lately (and of course caught some flak for that), so I figured I was overdue to put some upbeat stuff out.
Have one and happy with it.
It is an enticing offer but I don’t need one, even at a 30% reduction I don’t know anyone who needs one bad enough for me to pay for it.
Of course that is what Christmas is all about it seems, sacrificing needs for wants, even when it will cost you all the way to next WANT SEASON.
Such is my cynicism these days, probably just me.
I bought a Surface 3 in the spring. At first I liked it, but then some of the proprietary Microsoft quirks began to annoy me. The inability to use any common USB charger was one example. Then I bought a Dell Inspiron i7 and found that it was much handier, faster, and easier to use. I hardly ever use the Surface 3 now.
