There is a new kind of technology out there -- the automatic plate reader. Installed in a police car, it can currently auto-scan an average of 700 license plates-per-hour. That will continue to improve. And it red-flags every dirty plate in sight. Ohio already uses it, but Ohio [for example] customized its system to ignore petty crimes.
That is how powerful it is -- APR must be programmed to ignore the 'small stuff'.
Even if a criminal switches plates, technology could easily fix that problem, such as a scanning bar and ID tag on the dashboard. They would need to destroy the windshield or break into the car for the switched plate to match the dashboard ID. [Or just put the plates behind the glass to begin with.]
So far illegal immigration is something APR tech is not programmed to notice.
Why?
Politics.
Auto-plate readers could decimate our illegal immigration culture. They would need someone with a clean plate to haul them around, and vehicles crammed with passengers are easier to notice. The illegal immigrant culture would collapse, and that is intolerable to the Establishment.
So now the ACLU and the Establishment and Governor Mc-Awful of Virginia hope to trick the anti-establishment into helping oppose APR tech. And it's easy to do. For example:
"... This kind of Orwellian technology allows patrol officers to use mined personal data about 'all' residents, including law-abiding ones, to fight street crime. For example, the Memphis patrolman no longer has to type a license number into a computer console in his car, All he has to do now is drive around and let the 'automatic plate reader' capture the plate numbers on every nearby vehicle. If the reader alerts to a problem, the officer no longer has to wait 20 minutes for someone back at the department to manually check the suspect's records. He is equipped with a 'hand-held device' that brings up the suspect's mug shot, Social Security number, the status of his license, and whether he has any outstanding warrants..." -- johntfloyd.com
[How 'spooky'.]

Tips —
When running an advanced search, ‘automatic plate reader’ or APR is good, but be sure to add ‘license’ to avoid the protein synanym.
I’m feeling dumb. Don’t some states let undocumented Democrats have drivers licenses? If so, why would a car be “dirty”?
Interesting, thanks!
That’s a good point too — the licenses given to identity theives [how most illegals stay here] could also be easily wiped out at the same time. Technology would cheaply obliterate the illegal immigrant culture. It’s just a matter of having the will to do it.
So the difference seems mainly to be quantity and time. So finding fewer criminals and doing that slower is better somehow?
Yes, by all means ban this anti-American tech - let free criminals and jihadis who are only practicing their respective religions.
As for how helpful APR tech would be — it would have made the Arizona Law be easily enforced [the one opposed by Obama in the courts]. Rather than police rubber-necking for plates, the scanners would do most of the work although they could visually observe vehicles, particularly the ones crammed with passengers.
I’ve been asking around — people don’t know how easy this would be.
When you see Mexican’s (illegals) driving in Indiana they ALL have Ohio license plates. FACT!
The son of a mailman, Kasich, has been planning to use their vote for a long time for his run for president. Looks like that’s not working out so well for him. HA
“ignore petty crimes” Translation = illegal aliens.
“So finding fewer criminals and doing that slower is better somehow?”
Exactly. We not only have the laws on the books, we have the tech to enforce it efficiently.
The next frontier is ‘humane treatment’ of convicts. We need to neuter the supreme court interpretation of that. Let each state interpret humane treatment for itself.
“When you see Mexicans (illegals) driving in Indiana they ALL have Ohio license plates. FACT!”
Interesting. And Ohio already has powerful APR tech.
One poster pointed out that it’s easy for illegals to get driver licenses. But that’s just procedural. It could all be turned around in a hurry if the Establishment ever got out of the way.
Once again, submit to invasion of your privacy for your own safety, a remedy to a problem caused by lack of enforcement of existing laws. License plate readers everywhere is a control freak government’s dream come true.
“License plate readers everywhere is a control freak governmentâs dream come true.”
When the Establishment falls we can use its own tech to clean up the mess they caused. And I’m all for taking down those stupid ‘red light cameras’.
So many technologies and abilities touted as the next great thing for everyone end up being used against the good citizens instead of the originally-stated targets.
As Ben once said - "Those who give up some freedoms for the sake of security deserve neither" not to mention they usually end up getting neither....
Another point — even red light cameras can be refined. For example, they should ease up on gray-area arguable violations.
And ... when it comes to banning texting-while-driving, should a driver in a traffic jam in a motionless car be hassled?
Let’s skip the intermediary steps and go for the ultimate frontier - letting each person charged with a crime interpret what humane treatment means and should be made legally binding on the charging parties, state or federal.
Giving up freedom is different than making police more efficient. One finer point on the issue — states should run their own APR — never make it a federal power.
“... letting each person charged with a crime interpret what humane treatment means ...”
There you go. Zero could nominate you to the supreme court.
seriously — Great sarcasm!
The OH. plate thing has been going on for a long time Kasich has to know it, IMO.
If a regular citizen goes across state lines to buy their plates (because the plates are cheaper in OH.) in Ohio and they get caught, it’s a big deal.
I’d like to know where they are getting the ID’s to get the plates as well? Someone must be be supporting a network of fake ID’s? How are they able to get a registration and plates when they are illegals?
” ... submit to invasion of your privacy for your own safety ...”
Also, what privacy rights does a license plate have?
“Ignore petty crimesâ Translation = illegal aliens.
Yep. You nailed it. Then, it is a matter of time before this new tech is linked to whatever the authoritarians want to target. They could create a federal program for enforcement to round up subversives. Louis Lerner could be the new enforcement czar.
