The researchers are basing their claims on a number of Roman discoveries in Oak Island...
As well as the stone, they found carved stones on Oak Island also 'possess a language from the ancient Levant' according to Pulitzer.
Other findings include a Roman legionnaire's whistle found on Oak Island in 1901, a Roman shield 'boss' and a small Roman head sculpture found in Mexico City in 1933.
Another clue, in his report, is the presence of an invasive species of plant which was once used by Romans...
'The ceremonial sword came out of that shipwreck,' he told The Boston Standard. 'It is one incredible Roman artefact.'
He bases this on studies of his the artefacts metallic properties which match those of other ancient Roman artefacts.
'It has the same arsenic and lead signature in it. We've been able to test this sword against another one like it and it matches,' he said.
Pulitzer's report also details a number of Mi'kmaq carved images by indigenous people drawn on cave walls in Nova Scotia.
Some of these images show what Pulitzer believes to be Roman legionnaires.

I missed it too but went to the History channel website and you can stream the last show and watch it on your computer.
If they find a fossilized Corned Beef Sandwich they can claim that the early Hebrews discovered North America.
Now wouldn’t that be a kick in the behind? Kosher Moose sandwiches with Kishka, sauerkraut, coleslaw and a dill pickle.
The show is silly, the partners are not using the technology available to find what is there.
I suggest:
1) Do test borings to determine the soil profiles and the locations of fresh and sea water.
2) Do a seismic survey to determine if voids exist and the top of rock.
3) Pump the shaft they dumped the green dye into. You need to clear the water for the camera investigation.
4) Retain a engineering company, to plan and review the geotechnical information.
5) Call Michels Corporation in Wisconsin, they can do anything needed to enable excavation to the bottom, in the dry.
They have driven shafts and tunnels in much more difficult conditions.
6) Grout closed the connections to the bay and stop the water.
7) Develop a dewatering plan to remove the water.
8) Develop a grouting plan to stabilize the soils in the shaft areas.
9) Develop a plan to excavate and support the work and make it safe.
10) Mike Rowe is a more pleasing narrator, in my option.
Didn’t they find Roman era amphorae off the coast of Brazil and Roman coins in Texas?
I think they had iron but steel alloyed iron to make it stronger came along much later.
I find it interesting that there is a Nolan family living on Oak Island. That is my maiden name although we have a different spelling and I have traced my dad’s line back to Henry Sinclair...so it is interesting that Sinclair visiting there is one of the current theories about it...and that a Nolan family lives there.
One more person needs to die before the treasure of Oak Island can be found and it won’t be Mike Rowe ;-{)
OK I give. Which pre-modern civilization did NOT visit Oak Island? And why did they all go there instead of the other 33 bazillion other islands along the NA coast? Was there a sign or something in the Atlantic - >This way to Oak Island where everybody but you has buried a fabulous treasure.
Who discovered America can only be answered in the plural. It is HIGHLY probable that in the millennia before Columbus, there were many accidental and then purposeful discoverers. Every single one of them is MEANINGLESS to the m modern world. Until Columbus established a continuing relationship between Spain/Europe and America, the fact that Brendan the Voyager ‘discovered’ some place to the west around the 6th century is just as meaningful as this story of the Romans.
Now if they were to use the word ‘encounter’ I would be less vexed! A coincidental and ephemeral visit with no lasting effect!
That was an interesting article. Thanks for posting..
I watch those 2 brothers who are spending a fortune looking for treasure on Oak Island and all they have found (that I have seen) is a Roman coin.
They have more patience than I do.
History Channel has obviously learned to back projects that by their very nature will proceed slowly and which are process orientated rather than just a big reveal.
This way even if they find nothing they avoid the mockery heaped on Geraldo Rivera for Capone’s “vault” as the journey has been the show, not the destination.
“All of north America is descended from Roman Caucasians!”
Yes, but the Asian Indians came across the land bridge and stole it so we took it back!
There were lots of people floating around...east and west coasts.
Why would this surprise anyone?
Ancient Roman documents do say that Roman ships sailed west from what is Spain and never came back—They had ships almost as good as Columbus so it was very possible—Roman ships sailed to China Across Indian Ocean, into Pacific, and to Canton. They even has a suez canal in Egypt. Possible—but—probabal?
It makes sense that the Romans would need to bring swords. They would have had to fight off everyone already on the island; The Aztecs, The Knights Templar, Space Aliens, Shakespeare, The Vikings...
