Donald Trump has performed a service for conservatives by being willing to fight the GOP establishment and draw attention to important issues. He has sparked a much needed national debate about overall immigration levels, a border fence, and the absurd policy of unqualified birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. Conservative voters, and indeed most Americans, want a fighter. Trump has been selling himself as that refreshing change, a warrior who will fight political correctness and the political establishment.
With that said, one has to ask what happened to Trump over the weekend. He has repeatedly attacked Ted Cruz for, not kissing up to the establishment. He has also attacked Justice Scalia forâ¦not being politically correct! So what exactly is Trump fighting for?
Judicial tyranny and religious liberty are among the top issues that divide the party base from the political class, yet Trump has been largely silent on those issues.
Over the weekend, Trump assailed Cruz for not supporting venture socialism in the form of ethanol mandates and subsidies. Trump likes to say that our politicians are a bunch of dummies. He is absolutely correct. There is nothing dumber and more establishment than using the boot of government to coerce consumers into shoving corn into their fuel tanks, thereby raising the cost of fuel and food, all to benefit a horde of wealthy special interests. Really, Donald? Why throw in with the Washington cartel when youâve been so rewarded for taking them on?
Another dumb and unconstitutional policy of the political dummies Trump so passionately inveighs against is affirmative action. Last week, the entire political Left had a meltdown when Justice Scalia quoted some briefs submitted in an affirmative action case (Fisher v. University of Texas) based on peer-reviewed academic studies, noting that some African American students (or other groups and individuals) who are placed in higher level academic settings exclusively based on quotas will often perform worse than in a classroom more suited to their needs. The PC crowd howled racism for days! Amazingly, Donald Trump joined the wimp brigade, placing political correctness over rational discourse, saying Scalia was "very tough" on "that community" and that he disagreed with him. Really, Donald?
Scalia is a national treasure on the level of our Founders. It would be nice if Trump would let us know what type of judges he would appoint. Judicial tyranny and religious liberty are among the top issues that divide the party base from the political class, yet Trump has been largely silent on those issues.
Trump then referred to Cruz as "a little bit of a maniac" in terms of how he deals with his fellow senators. Really, Donald? I thought these were the stupid, pathetic dummies you plan to put in their places? What exactly did Cruz do wrong with regard to Mitch McConnell? In what way would you handle McConnell differently?
Here is some free advice from someone who has greatly appreciated what Trump has done on the issue of immigration, at least in terms of elevating the prominence of the issue: If you really think Cruz will go the way of the other candidates you butted heads with, and desire to affect that outcome, attack him from the right in a legitimate way. But if you are going to hit him from the left and side with the political class on key issues, especially as it relates to political correctness, you will lose your entire appeal of speaking truth and common sense.
What analysis?
I think you are spot on correct. Trump is a huckster and a likely plant.
Horowitz nails it.
Funny it's the Trump haters who are threatening to support Hillary over Donald. The last thing the Uninparty wants is a nationalist to upset their globalist agenda.
“Donald Trump Is Fighting...But For What?”
You might want to listen to one of his campaign events. 41% of republicans think he’ll Make America Great Again.
I’ve listened to a lot of his campaign events. I listened to the one Friday night in Des Moines when he slammed Cruz for not supporting welfare for ethanol.
Q: Donald Trump Is Fighting...But For What?
A: Donald Trump.
This is not rocket science.
Like it or not he is his own man.
Rush:...” if you look at Trumpâs support base, the majority of it is not conservative. In fact, if you look at the Trump support base. And Iâve maintained this for I donât know how long. It seems that the â if you look at the demographic makeup of Trumpâs support, itâs exactly what the Republican Party claims they want.”
He is analyzing many polls non which to base this assertion, not just 1.
All I can do is link you folks to solid information.
If you wish to dismiss it, go ahead.
To you guys, everything negative about Trump is solid truth, and anything positive about Trump is unbelievable.
Note that when Trump trashed Roberts, it was a non event to Cruz supporters.
He criticizes Scalia and the heavens open and a sign from heaven reads, “Don’t vote Trump”.
Comical...
Just as we FReepers have, Trump now realizes we have a UNI-PARTY and that is why it is HIM against the ESTABLISHMENT. This accounts for his skyrocketing popularity.
Ross Perot? He was very unattractive.
But his hair was just as weird as the Donald”s
Trump doesn’t have perfect hair, but he loves this country. He’s also a mensch.
Trump is great at blowing up the globalists. Now we know, he’s also good at blowing up his supporters, too.
When he runs to the left during the election against Hillary, we know he’ll be for reverse discrimination (racial preferences for the politically correct skins) and for “intelligent”, academic leftist supremes.
After the selected attack on Cruz, we will now always have to wonder how far left - anti-Christian and anti-American/globalist - he will go for “the deal.”
If someone advised him to do this in the past week, someone needs to be FIRED. Oh well.
As usual, I come to the conclusion that America won’t be saved by politicians. Pray.
OK, heres a link to some “solid information” backing up what I posted:
What is interesting though is to see who is winning Iowaââ¬â¢s conservatives, and who is winning the moderates.
It turns out it is not even close. Cruz wins TEA Party Republicans 45-26 and Very Conservative Republicans 34-24. It is among the center and left wings of the party that Trump takes over: Somewhat Conservatives are led by Trump 26-25, and Liberals tilt heavily toward Trump 27-8 over Cruz.
Cruz also leads in the White Born-Again Evangelical segment 34-24 over Trump, directly contradicting Trumps claim that he was doing better than Cruz there.

I already put a link out there showing just the reverse nationally. Believe what you want to.
