So we have got a new poll out from Quinnipiac University looking at Iowa. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% has just taken over the Real Clear Politics lead in Iowa by a hair, a finding of Donald Trump 28, Cruz 27 is not surprising at all.
What is interesting though is to see who is winning Iowaâs conservatives, and who is winning the moderates.
It turns out it is not even close. Cruz wins TEA Party Republicans 45-26 and Very Conservative Republicans 34-24. It is among the center and left wings of the party that Trump takes over: Somewhat Conservatives are led by Trump 26-25, and Liberals tilt heavily toward Trump 27-8 over Cruz.
Cruz also leads in the White Born-Again Evangelical segment 34-24 over Trump, directly contradicting Trumps claim that he was doing better than Cruz there.
So if Quinnipiac is right, conservatives are speaking up, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% is their choice.
Ouch !
Now 4 polls having Ted Cruz ahead of Trump in Iowa.
RCP average has Ted Cruz 26 over Trump 25.
Ted’s a maniac, maniac , knocking on Trump’s Iowa front door.
And he’s winning Iowa like he has never won before.
Romney McDonald, Where Mega Flip Flop Burgers are the flavor of the month.
Oh come now, you know they’re only legitimate polls if our lord and savior Trump is winning.
Didn’t you hear ? In his own words to..
Trump is back tracking now, back peddling now on Muslims, now he is boasting about how he has many wonderful relationships with Muslims.
Romney McDonald, Never meet a flip flop Burger he didn’t like.
What does President Santorum think about this?
Not surprising considering he attacked Pam Geller for picking on muslims in May, then said we have to take in Syrians in September.
I see what you did there, and you're not nearly as clever as you think you are. Santorum was never anything but a niche evangelical candidate. Ditto Huckabee four years earlier. If either Trump or Cruz wins Iowa, they'll come out of that state THOUSAND TIMES stronger than either Huckatorum or Santuckabee did - because neither Trump nor Cruz are single niche candidates.
Nice try.....not really.
I believe we will continue to see further growth in Cruz winning conservatives nationally ....
Then banning Muslims a few weeks ago, and now Surprise ! ( to his supporters ) he now has wonderful relationships with Muslims now.
Romney McDonald, Flip Flop Burgers with a whole lot of Bull.
Speaking of flip flops, how about pretending to be anti establishment for six months and then going PRO ESTABLISHMENT on Cruz, Ethanol, Scalia - in one weekend?
The flip flop weekend of all time. Romney couldn’t hold a friggin candle to what the Donaldus did this weekend.
OK, correction, he said he has wonderful relationships with Muslims back in September.
Pandering perhaps ?
It's more than that. Simple pandering is one thing, but I am pretty sure DT was oblivious to the fact that he was attacking the very thing in Cruz that conservatives like about him. DT is only a part time, short term conservative. He can't be expected to really have it in his bones. He simply doesn't.
Congressman Steve King says no modern Republican president has won the WH without winning the Iowa Caucus. I did not look it up tho.
Not surprising at all.
I think Bob Vander Plaat’s endorsement immensely helped Senator Cruz!!
I don’t know if that is true or not...it may be. The fact is, winning Iowa and it’s impact on the race is very much tied to WHY and HOW you win Iowa...not simply THAT you win Iowa.
What’s that gut feeling after you know you have been had ? You been Trumped by a snake oil salesman ?
Hoodwinked, bamboozled, many fair weather Trump supporters have buyers remorse now.
Trump has been pulling your chain, setting you guys up.
We been telling you this for months to no avail until it blurted out of his own mouth.
...or looked at another way, thinking rational Trump supporters are having buyers remorse after this weekend....taking another look at their choice.
Which begs the question, will Limbaugh ever get ahead of this? If he doesn't, and if Trump continues to unravel from the left (ethanol, Scalia, and maniac) - Rush will be exposed as being played the fool.
