Thanks for the post.
I am in SoCal and it seems like it is getting ready to rain. This will probably he here soon.
I’ve driven that I-5 Freeway many times, just wow!
I could be proven wrong but I think it is a huge mistake by power-hungry DOT people to close the freeway. The pictures I saw of the slide showed it only affecting 1 of 3 northbound lanes. The geology as far as I know is ancient 50 million year old bedrock for the most part. A dozer could have easily opened traffic to 3 lanes within an hour and in the meantime 2 lanes could have been kept open with no danger. Tell me why I am wrong!
I just remember that stretch of road as having massive rising, steep rocky hills on the east side of the freeway. Even with the chain-link fences up the hills to stop rock slides, it still may be a precarious path.
But WSDOT is incompetent, just like most gubmint agencies.
Who knows?
I think our drought is over. We have been getting hammered for a month.
Merry Christmas
It’s sprinkling here in the mountains, but mostly this El Niño thing is passing us by.
