Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.
Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"
Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.
Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.
I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:
Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat
Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.
Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"
Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"
NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"
Any other suggestions?

But then I wrapped a suit of T60 Power Armor over my knee...
I haven’t seen any self aware ghouls yet. They are all feral.
But I’m sure there are whiny ones. I loved the ghouls in FO/FO2.
The ghouls in FO3/FNV/FO4 are zombie like and come in packs. Feral ghouls is what they are called.
As for the MIRV(not sure what that is, not sure what C-finder is either) dunno. But I found a Junk Gun that you load with junk and you can charge with a button. I’ve seen freeze rays and stuff too. I’m not very far at all though, explored mostly the North/Northwest. Haven’t gone into Boston yet. I’m an initiate in the Brotherhood of Steel, and there is another major couple of factions. The Minutemen are the main arc faction, and there is The Institute(not sure about those guys yet). The Minutemen are exactly what you would think they are when I say Minutemen, and you’re bringing them back to their glory days is what the main arc is from what I’ve seen.
Power armor is frigging awesome now. You can mod it with jetpacks and all sorts of cool stuff. But downside is it consumes a special type of fusion power cell.
It’s really great.
Loved F3 and Vegas, but 4 sounds like such a huge departure, with so much emphasis on crafting and base building.
The base building is NEAT, and the crafting was well-established (and harder to master) in FO:NV.
I’m finding idiot savant might be a bit over powered.
And I got a hot settler chick in Covenent to stay in bra and panties just by equipping her with the Chained Dog Collar.
I think that one's a submissive.
The base building is super simple once you play around with it, crafting is super simple as well.
You can probably get through most of the game without base building.
I don’t like to build elaborate settlements, so if you ran through one of mine you would see a radio tower, a generator, some Tato’s, a couple water pumps, and a random guard tower and auto-turret.

The last time I saw Piper was the last time I was forced by the game to see Piper. I don’t see that changing unless my masochism flares up again ;)
The ferals are SO much better than the other FO's. They leap and lurch and dodge much like the "28 Days Later" rage-zombies.
But yes, I have met the normal ghouls. Well, one. A settler.
She was awesome.
I play all 3 Borderlands, Battlefield 2,3,and, GTA V, Left4Dead 1 & 2, but I couldn’t get into the Fallout craze. I really tried with Fallout 3, but it was a bit boring for me. From what I gather from the commercials the main character is wearing a mech suit?
On a side note, XBOX had the two new Wolfenstein games this weekend for 80% off, so I reckon I try them and kill some nazis.
Wait... There was a Black Friday deal on gtx 970’s for 250...? Argh. Just bought my son a gtx 960 4GB for 220 a few weeks ago for Christmas.

There was one of the railroad tunnels...
when I first entered it, There was a collection of teddy bears and the ghouls didn’t attack me until I went near them. Now I don’t know if that was a glitch, or an intentional scenario of the game but I would note a very subtle/subliminal bit of storytelling going on in that you often find ghouls are carrying toys or baby rattles instead of simply random stuff.
Just something to ponder.
I like what I hear about the power armor! Might remind me of the times I chugged potions to get 700 acrobatics in Oblivion!
I knew about the feral ghouls, I was pointing out about how much the non-ferals whined about “smoothskins” being parallel to people blaming everything on “discrimination”. I never noticed ghouls being mistreated in the games except at Tenpenny Tower (I wont say anymore, because I don’t want to spoil it for you)
As for the MIRV and the C-finder, I’ll link you some videos of them in action, give me a moment.
I am stoically awaiting the porting of the Skyrim CBBE body mods and Skyrim Beautiful followers mod so that I can recreate Lydia to carry my burdens. I haZ burdens..
Or I will be refreshing my old and neglected 3D graphics skills to port them myself.
It’s not really. It’s the same games, just ‘more’ of those games. A logical expansion rather than an all new revolution.
Lol, Laz. Not sure if you’re being sarcastic but “Idiot Savant” is a perk in all the fallout games that requires you have really low intelligence. Can’t remember what it does or what column it is on in FO4. It’s the one on the far right though.
