She's the reigning champion and her name is Laura. Listen to her when she answers a question.
The strongest accent I ever heard was a girl from Chester, South Carolina. She was uncommonly pretty so I was willing to put up with a lot. She was also a grammar school teacher.
Anyway when I first met her I asked where she was from. She answered with what sounded like “Shastuh” I finally had to get her to spell it. We dated a few times and she got easier to understand but never completely easy.
Oh my word......she sounds like Forrest Gump
She’s gone. Got blown out tonite. Came in third. At first she got on my one nerve, and then she started to grow on me....even while my wife and I chuckled at her.
I’m not a shrink. I don’t even play one on TV, but I wonder if that didn’t start originally as a vague protection mechanism, and grew with usage. But she is an attorney now, so she shouldn’t need it. But we’ll not see her again unless she appears in a future tournament.
I was watching an advertisement for Henry Rifles. It was a half hour infomercial which I normally would never watch but the guy’s New Jersey accent caught my attention.
The guy’s name is something like Imperato which is probably Italian. Anyway I have read that they are very good to their workers and generally nice people. Also every part of their guns are made in America.
After Clinton won in ‘92, I was watching C-SPAN. Clinton and Shrillary were in a greeting line for the adoring throngs. One Southern female admirer got her turn with Clinton and gushed to him, “Hello Mr. President, I’m so happy to meet yoooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.” I don’t know if Bill quickly flashed his willy at her for a possible rendezvous later. Probably not, but I’m sure he would have liked to have done so.
She lost today, so you won’the have to listen to her strange cadence anymore.
That Matt Jackson was a weirdo, but I liked him precisely because he did interrupt that pompous jack wagon Trebec. That jerk wastes the contestants’ time by adding on unnecessary information about the clue after a correct answer has been given. All the while trying to act like he knows so much.
The guy who beat Jackson seems like a nice fellow.
I loathe Trebec.
Listening but can't hear a thing. Ah, is there a channel or a link or a time or .....
Matt Jackson had the intensity of a high level quizbowl player (which he was). I like contestants that play fast since it increases the odds of clearing the board. The worst contestants are the “...ummmm... I’ll have *insert full category name* for 200, please.”
Me too. Imitate her I mean. She drove me crazy. She seemed pleasant and smart. Oh well she’s done now.
I think that her voice is cute!!
Shouldn’t you be phrasing this post in the form of an answer?
And sexy
Couldn’t stand her voice. Last night, my husband said ‘if she wins,I’m not sure I want to watch tomorrow’. Glad she lost (and we did watch). Really liked the guy that won the Tournament of Champions. He always acted like he didn’t know the answer.....and then would be correct at the last minute. Didn’t enjoy Matt Jackson with his creepy growing smile, sort of like a creepy clown. Overall, we really enjoy Jeopardy; DVR it and watch every day.
I had the same problem until i realized the clip is muted. You can uncheck the mute (X) in the little video and you can hear it.
Where is she from? She sounds like the liberals I use to deal with on the upper West side of Manhattan. “Obama is the ooooonly candidate for meeeee” I use to mock them over the phone and they were too stupid to notice it. “Well will that be threeeeee orders or foooour” “No that will be fooooour”.
Oh, my goodness, I noticed it, too! I called other family members that were doing other things to come and see/listen to her sentence endings. When my husband heard it, he laughed and said, “That’s a Seinfeld episode right there!”...LOL...
I'm in your husband's camp, I was dreading her making to the tournament of champions. And watching Alex agonize over double jeopardy clues was comical!
I’ve set up Jeopary to record every day. Been so busy, so I started trying to watch ALL 55 episodes that have built up since the new season began. Yes, Matt Jackson was a total smart-ass and put on. I’ll have to go watch today’s for this Laura person.
