T Colin Campbell v Eric C Westman - Diet Doctors
YouTube ^ | Apr 20, 2013 | drcldrcl

Posted on 11/19/2015 6:20:55 AM PST by WhiskeyX

T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D., wrote "The China Study" in 2005. A professor emeritus at Cornell University, Campbell was the director of the China-Oxford-Cornell study on diet and disease in the 1980s. The book chronicles his findings about diet and health from his career in basic science. While not calling himself a vegetarian or vegan, Campbell supports a whole-food, plant-based, low protein/low fat diet.

Eric Westman, M.D., has conducted clinical trials regarding the Atkins diet, made famous by Robert Atkins in 1972. The Atkins diet, sometimes called the antithesis of the China Study, suggests that lower consumption of carbohydrate and higher consumption of fat leads to better cardiovascular health. Westman is a physician specializing in obesity medicine and associate professor of internal medicine at Duke University.

Nutritional Health Series, Part 47

T Colin Campbell v Eric C Westman - Diet Doctors

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJYlXmfb08M

This video is one in a series of videos and websites which are being posted on FreeRepublic in the coming days in regard to nutritional health. In the beginning these videos were being posted as a rebuttal to an article and comments in another posted article on FreeRepublic remarking on obesity. Due to the strong interest in obesity and nutritional health as it relates to Type II Diabetes, the videos relating to Type II diabetes and how to reverse the progression of the disease are being moved forward among the other video topics in this series. Expect to see a mixture of videos regarding the role of carbohydrates in the diet and their relationship to nutritional health topics ranging from metabolic syndrome and Diabetes to dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Altzheimer's Disease, and more. The effects of standard government sponsored diets, health association diets, and alternative diets upon everyday nutrition, sports nutrition, and diabetic nutrition will be mixed in with videos focused on the use of various low carbohydrate and high fat (LCHF) diets, such as the ketogenic diets as a treatment for Type II Diabetes.

Anyone who is interested in following this series of posts about nutritional health is invited to request a ping.

Diets are like religion, you pick one and stick with it no matter what.

“Diets are like religion, you pick one and stick with it no matter what.”

That is a myth that is killing millions of Americans prematurely with the consequences of obesity despite an individual’s efforts to stop it. That myth is what prompted this series of nutritional health videos to refute the myth. Anyone who wants to disagree needs to take on the evidence these physicians present in these videos and refute them point for point to be taken seriously.

Why would anyone want to waste their time and lives in argument?

Anyone who wants to disagree needs to take on the evidence these physicians present in these videos and refute them point for point to be taken seriously.

Good thing you don't get to make the rules.

“Good thing you don’t get to make the rules.”

That is the whole point. I don’t make the rules. You don’t make the rules. No third person makes the rules. The rules are an inherent part of how the Universe was created, and a person who ignores the inherent rules and laws of the Universe does so at their own peril no matter what they choose to believe. That is why any diet must comply with the rues of the Universe no matter how imperfectly we are at gaining a realistic and effective understanding of how to implement those rules.

If one cares about hanging on to the last living minute. Some don't.

Everyone wants to go to Heaven, but no-one wants to die.

Anyone claiming to have all the answers is usually wrong.

“Anyone claiming to have all the answers is usually wrong”

That’s correct, and that is why the HCLF (High Carbohydrate Low Fat) answers unsupported by any credible medical studies has resulted since 1920 in heart disease, cardiovascular disease and mortality, obesity, Diabetes mellitus, Parkinson’s Disease, Altzheimer’s Disease, dementia, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), and a wide variety of nutritional and neurological disorders unprecedented in Human history by orders of magnitude.

“No third person makes the rules.”

Yeah, around here, JR makes the rules, and those rules say if you want to post your videos here, we are free to comment on them without meeting your silly criteria.

I said nothing different. I only observed the obvious fact that no matter what any of us want to believe the fundamental laws of the Universe apply to all of us, our biochemistries, and our biophysics. We do not live in a world like that of Wile Coyote where physics do not have lasting consequences.

It’s easy to lose weight.
Watch what fat people eat and don’t eat that.

Of course. Ignore the fanaticism. Pay attention to the bioscience and empirical results. People who are slowly dying and wasting away in pain and cruel discomfort due to metabolic syndrome and diabetes have few alternatives to reverse the progression of the disease, and aside from problematic bariatric surgery they have no better alternatives that actually work to reverse the disease.

“It’s easy to lose weight.

That is the kind of lie which prompted the postings of this Nutritional health Series. See for example:

Yes you did say something different, you said:

“Anyone who wants to disagree needs to take on the evidence these physicians present in these videos and refute them point for point to be taken seriously.”

Can’t walk that back now.

“Can’t walk that back now”

I’m not. How does refuting scientific versus non-scientific hypotheses with scientific evidence differ from dealing with the fundamentals of Universal biochemistry, chemistry, and physics?
