Sad to say it but looks like Burt ain’t got much longer on this earth.
I will say that Burt Reynolds’ schtick got a little tiresome after a while, but deep down he seemed like a pretty grounded guy.
Charlie Sheen won the betting pool, but Burt was on the short list for AIDS a few days ago!
I was on the set of Burn Notice when he guest starred, and he looked the same back then.
His movies were liked, his tv series ‘Evening Shade’ was watchable in its very short season. After Lonni came out with her book, Reynolds was holding on to his pedestal by his fingertips. He was ‘hot stuff, baby’ when he appeared in the centerfold pic eons ago Sad to see the state he’s in these days.
I met him, Lois Nettleton and James Hampton in 1972. They did a play that I attended. All of them were very nice and the play, Rainmaker, was a lot of fun.
He si 79 afterall. Isn’t our (men) lifespan about 76? I think woman is about 83.
Gotta remember, Burt was a stunt man before he was known as an actor. That bodys’ taken a beatin’..................Having said that, always wondered about his mental state after telling Loni Anderson he never wanted to see her naked again. Darn dude, really?
From playing an Indian on “Gunsmoke” to his career peaking with “Deliverance” he had a wild career. He was a favorite guest of Johnny Carson who once kidded him about “the lost episodes of Dan August”.
Nobody gets out alive. I’m surprised Burt has lasted this long.
Just remember, no matter how hot a woman is, some guy, somewhere, is tired of putting up with her $&!t.
The late actor Richard Burton would have replied to your statement; “Tell me about it, mate!”.
Ha! Yeah, I heard that one time. Also, IIRC Burt did have an issue with RX drug abuse for a while.
He’s been looking camped out at death’s door for the last 25 years. Actors Robert Conrad (Wild, Wild West) and Jan Michael Vincent (Airwolf) have had similar fates of chronically poor health. Jan Michael has had one leg amputated after alcoholism led to surgeries which then led to infections.
One never knows how their elder years will be presented.
I have noticed that most divorced women are above average in physical attractiveness.
Perhaps the beauty is only skin deep?
A fellow I know had, over his lifetime, married three beauty queens.
All legitimately described as “super hot”.
His fourth wife, who has made him happier than he has ever been, could best be described as “plain”.
It does make one wonder.
A few months ago he sold of hundreds of pieces of memorabilia that he had collected. He said they no longer meant much to him any more.
I am sure that my body in 1977 was much more attractive than it is now.
None of us age well. It’s just we don’t see these “stars” that often. When we do our mind has to do gymnastics to recognize them.
It’s not sad. It’s just life.
Its not hard to understand, simple economic theory explains it.
Hot Chicks have men dote on them, they have a perceived value... so they learn they can pretty much do a lot of things and guys put up with it, because both they and their guy know they can find someone else who will put up with it this guy won’t.
OBiously not ALL hot women are like this, but it is a generally true. A gal who isn’t that hot, tries to play those games and winds up at the curb so she learns not to behave that way.
