Fake Olive Oil, It's Everywhere. Most Likely In Your Kitchen

According to the book Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil, illicit manufacturers slap an Italian flag and the name of an imaginary producer on the label and dump this stuff on the US market, where consumers are easy pickings.

But consumers in the US aren’t the only victims. Studies done in Australia and New Zealand found that half of their Mediterranean imports were fake, too. Anywhere olive oil is in demand is a possible target.

How do you fake olive oil? Olive oil can be diluted with poor quality oils or sometimes there is no real olive oil at all. Cheap and unhealthy soy or canola oils are colored with industrial chlorophyll and flavored with artificial flavorings. Yum. [....]

Sorry, but canola is most definitely unhealthy.

It comes from a genetically modified Rape seed.

All GMO adds unnatural nucleotides to your cells, thus making unnatural cell growth a guaranteed consequence.

The Ojai Olive Oil co in CA has the best I’ve tasted and I import it by the six pack to where I live on the east coast. It cooks up sweet and noticeably superior.

Every food crop we eat is unnatural, due to selective breeding over the millennia.

Colavita was one of the brands not meeting specs.

The tests made were sensory as well as chemical. Some of the failures were just from using over ripe olives.

The two that I remember being true were Kirkland (Organic) and California Ranch. There were a couple others.

No, you are mistaken.

Breeding through cross pollination does not generate unnatural DNA that can alter the cells of the consumer of the fruit.

Snopes is totally unreliable.

Their goals are to protect those that have a destructive agenda. Snopes is an ultra-leftist couple living in southern California.

Wow. Good to know that all those Big Gov regulations I’m paying for actually don’t work. Whodathunk?

"Cheap and unhealthy soy or canola oils"

He blew his credibility right there.

Not to my way of thinking. Soybean oil, at least, is an 'engineered oil'... one you'd never encounter in nature in sufficient quantity to be nutritionally significant. And contrary to popular belief, I'd rather cook my food in butter or even lard than that fishy-smelling soybean oil.

I make sure I get “Une Shoprite Magnifique”, Grandma always said it was the best & healthiest of the house brands. Besides. it came with a secret decoder ring in each bottle.

Doesn’t sound like real olive oil to me!

I sure wish there were a place that sold real olive tasting olive oil.

You've been eating too much natural psilocybin again. It's causing you to believe in things that make absolutely no sense.

Unnatural DNA attacking your brain?

That would explain a few things.
