The chant: "Tom Rochon. No confidence" echoed across campus Wednesday, shouted by at least a thousand students who took part in a "Solidarity Walk Out" at Ithaca College.
The demonstration was a response to ongoing concerns of racial injustice on campus.
"We stand here in solidarity," a woman standing with POC at IC (People of Color at IC) said into a microphone Wednesday in front of hundreds. "Our hearts are heavy with the pain of Mizzou and Yale and Smith and every person of color on a college campus simply because of the color of their skin, the texture of their hair or their ancestry. This a problem of the nation. However, how can a campus dedicated to preparing us for the real world not actively foster growth to our consciousness of oppression and privilege?"
Many on campus â students and faculty included â have called for a vote of no confidence for the college's president, Tom Rochon.

As long as universities pay the Danes the danegeld, the disease will spread. If the universities remove and repel them, the disease will go away.
Treat them like rioters and get them to turn in who’s paying them to riot. If that means revoking scholarships, expelling involved students, and otherwise sanctioning disruptive individuals, let it happen. Repeat until the students start rejecting the calls to riot by outside entities.
Watching this the islamic state terrorists are thinking America is for the taking.
We demand you join us in our mental illness.
Walked Out? Great - keep walking out into the cruel, cold, real world and see what the result of your antics will be.
Too bad Ronald Reagan isn’t still alive, and president. He could take care of these commies like he took care of the commies at Berkeley in 1969 when he was governor of California.
The results will be discrimination lawsuits filed against any unfortunate employer foolish enough to hire these people. They have received no other education but that. It’s the only possible outcome.
It is. Not like wildfire, but it is surely spreading. The tiger that the universities spawned to eat others has turned on them. One by one, they will be eaten. Because no one has the courage to stand up to them.
More of it.
It’s an organzied sham. Protesters are being bused in on charter buses. Coming soon to a university near you.

When they get out in the real world they're going to find that whining about micro-aggression and white privilege and complaining about covert and overt racism isn't going to get them anywhere.
The idiot at Missouri stepped down and therefore this will continue. Students making demands is insane.
Where on earth are the people with spines?
.
I’m seeing a solution....create a separate country for all the unhappy students, family members, other unhappy citizens, and their liberal enablers. Then build a 100 foot high wall around it. Electrified barbed wire at the top and guards with machine guns every 100 feet. End this insanity.
Unless the University administration gets behind President Rochon they are going to lose control of their school. The same goes for all the other colleges where this kind of unrest is going to occur.
Perhaps if companies refused to hire graduates of these so called Universities, it would greatly reduce the value of degrees from these schools and induce the admin to focus on education and not radicalization.
Ping!
College: where academic excellence is an afterthought.
Thaey are there and they are racists.
A good snow this nonsense until spring. This former state teachers college is pretty feisty.
Yeah, one thing I’ve noticed about Ithaca is that the weather is directly tied to the general level of student social conscience.
