The worst thing you can do to a Telemarketer is talk to them!
Or so I thought. Maybe the worst thing you can do to a Telemarketer is let your robo talk to them. After all, they call you with their computers, so itâs only fair to let them talk to your computer. Thatâs where âHello, This Is Lennyâ comes in. âLennyâ is a set of scripts originally used on an Asterisk-based Voice-Over-IP system. You can transfer the call to the extension using these scripts, or have the dialplan automatically route to Lennyâs extension.
Check out some of the You Tube videos. The telemarketers and bill collectors don't realize that they are talking not to a real person but a computer script. They are hilarious!

LOL!
I always ask telemarketers if I can put them on hold for a short bit, then I hang up the phone.
This is great!
But, what if Lenny gets my windfall from Nigeria?
I have gotten some of these computer cal
If you clearly say “REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIST” it has seemed to generate a correct response
I always feel bad for telemarketers because it is such a hard job, and they're just trying to make a living. So I usually just tell them I'm not interested
But I have no pity for "Microsoft Tech Support" scam callers, and other scammers.
With those callers, I sort of do what you do -- ask them to hold for a second, but then I put the phone by my computer speaker and activate my "music on hold" icon on my desk top.
My favorite anti-telemarketer prank by Tom Mabe.

Foamy the squirrel talks to smell tech support.

I just put the receiver next to my computer speakers and play Gunnery Sgt Hartman’s speech to the new recruits (from “Full Metal Jacket”).
Oh the Tech Support calls. I HATE those. I have been in the IT biz for over 20 years so I know the difference between NAT and FAT. I hate that these people are out there scamming so I make it the least productive that I can.
I take them for the longest ride I can. I act completely stupid. I had one guy on the line for 16 minutes before I told him I didn’t know how to turn the computer on. My record is almost two hours before the guy got totally exasperated and hung up on me. I think they are under threat never to hang up on anyone. I have been transferred to their “supervisor” numerous times.

I find they say “Windows Tech Support” with no mention of Microsoft. They are my favorite because I keep them on the line for 45 minutes. What I do is tell them I don’t run windows and make up an operating system, “I run Theologic version X17” they actually support that operating system also.

I have VOIP and it uses three different call lists that screen out telemarketers. I get at most one telemarketer every 4 months, and I then immediately but them on my blocked list. These kind of calls are no longer a concern for me. Best technology I’ve had - clear calls, very inexpensive, feature rich.
This is pretty simple. We just don’t bother to answer the phone unless it’s someone we know. And they have to tell us who they are. My answering machine call log will store 50 missed calls. It is always maxed out.
After the 200th call, I pressed '1'. I was greeted by a man speaking with a Hispanic accent. He asked if I wanted to get relief from high interest credit cards. I said, "No. What I want is for your company to stop calling me. I have no need for your services, whatever they are, so take my name of your list! Can you do that for me?"
His response?
"No. I can't. €u¢k you."
Great sales technique, huh?
The odd thing is, the caller ID showed my name and number for the incoming call.
Once I determine it’s a robot, I hang up. One just called.
WITHOUT EXCEPTION, the solicitation shills have any number of foreign accents.
It's the sinister invasion of the dinner-snatchers.
Being on the list of the national "Do Not Call Registry" seems to be no protection. There should be a federal or state investigation of why these alien creatures are allowed to invade our privacy on a regular basis and use OUR OWN personal telephone systems with arrogant impunity to harass the hell out of us.....and what can be done to prevent this. Hanging-up or invectives hurled do not affect these hired telephone boiler-room operators or their pitifully-dependent employees in any way at all.
I wish Trump was already in the Oval Office.

We get that one at least 3-4 times a week. Hubby ask if they know what kind of computer we have, of course they can’t answer that question. Ours is custom built by him and his IT daughter who owns her own IT Business. He taught Electronics/computers for 40 years, 20 in the Navy, and 20 as Jr. College Prof. His daughter has a very successful IT business, she got out just before it collapsed.
He hangs up on them, finally got him to learn that trick. If I don’t know you, I hang up I don’t have time to waste.
If you’re on a Florida No-call registry, file a Complaint.
The rats are getting smarter about hiding who/where they are.
