Just something to consider when throwing those gently used clothes into a donation bin.

As a side note, for years a thrift store near my house was run by a veteran's charity. And they had a donation bin in the parking lot.

Then some guy bought them out, and is running the place for profit. The bin is still there. I wonder how many of their customers are aware of the transition.

I BUY my clothes at the Salvation Army and Goodwil.

When I’m done with them, the only thing they are good for is to cut them up and use them for rags.

My brother and I have wondered about these new “for the world” bind popping up everywhere. We always drop by Goodwill or the local mission.

These scumbags really restore my faith in INhumanity. Why don’t they go to work for a real charity, like the Clinton Foundation. At least Hill and Bill give a few pennies out of every dollar to charity.

Leaning Right :" Just something to consider when

I knew of an aquaintance who worked at one of these clothing donation sites where he was a paid employee .
All the donations were bundled in large weighed bales
and were sold to emerging markets for their fibers and content by weight .
They were a "non-profit" as the employees made a living wage, and the director/CEO had an exorbitant salary, until there was no profit .
They complied with the letter of the law , but not with the 'spirit of the law' .

Our stuff goes in a Salvation Army bin and sometimes Saint Vincent DePaul. However the folks at our local SVDP store take half the stuff home and Ebay it for a nice profit.

Naw I had a freeper insist earlier this year that this sort of misdirected donation was all good because it still upcycled old things and some money still trickled to the poor.
