Even as Dr. Ben Carson touts his medical expertise as a qualification in his candidacy for President, he is stuck having to explain why he once claimed that his prostate cancer had been cured by a junk science supplement consisting of aloe vera and tree bark. Carson, who has rejected most modern scientific principles during his campaign as he is rejected climate change and other basics, has been caught on video making the claims as part of a pyramid scheme promoting the supplement , even as he denied any connection during the third republican debate.
In what might be the strangest story yet about the seemingly strangest candidate in the 2016 race, YouTube footage has surfaced from 2004 in which Ben Carson tells a group of sales associates for a dietary supplement called Mannatech that after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he began taking the supplement and 'within about three weeks my symptoms went away.' It must not have worked that well, as Carson later had surgery to remove the cancer.
It should be pointed out that Carson is a retired medical doctor and brain surgeon, and would seemingly be the last Presidential candidate to be willing to participate in such a junk-medicine pyramid scheme. However the video in question plays up his doctor credentials as a way of giving credence to the supplement in question. Watch the video of Ben Carson claiming that tree bark cured his cancer here:

The issue is he was in a contractual relationship with Manntech and denied it. Unless you believe he did an hour PBS special for them with no written agreement.
Why not direct your haughty superiority towards the hysterics on this thread who would rather see Hillary or Bernie win the White House if only they can shoot out the knees of everyone else but Cruz, who will NOT win the White House in this cycle, I guarantee you, because the country isn't ready.
Apparently you -- and they -- think that an herbal supplement endorsement is morally equivalent to telling the Marines to stand down, even if four of our men would get killed in Benghazi, to further the Democrats' electorial ambitions to appear that they had solved the Middle East. There is no depths to which they won't stoop. Somehow you haters think Carson is in their league, and it's okay to play fast and loose with his reputation.

They could have read you a telephone book full of reasons why they support him and you would say they hadn't. You're not helping Ted Cruz, or conservatism, or the Republican party or the truth with your exaggerated attacks on Carson. You expected perfection? In a candidate, any candidate? Grownups know that all of us fall short of the glory of God; no one is perfect; there is no perfect candidate and you will die without ever seeing one. How about a little loyalty to our team? We hear you, already. You're disappointed. Ohhh kaaaaay.
It amazes me that you nit pick over something that is not even the real issue here.
He made a PBS special for Mannatech in 2014, long after they were being flooded with lawsuits. He had a 10 year paid relationship with this company and bald faced lied about it.

I didn’t write the article and my main contention with Carson is he lied about his involvement with Mannatech. He did far more than make a couple of speeches, as videos and a PBS special he made for the company prove.
