Odd Character Replacement in some articles

Since the badware scare about "attack sites", I've been seeing odd character replacements in some linked articles and thread titles.

This happens on my Win 7 desktop and also with my iPhone 6S+...is anyone else seeing this?

Today is the first day I have seen this. Seems something is not interpreting certain characters properly but the characters show correctly when I visit the linked article so it seems confined to this site.
The diamond with a question mark is a replacement character for one not recognized in the character encoding.

My guess is that John R. is in the middle of doing something with the site’s HTML parsing and that it’s unrelated to the malware warnings.

Just to follow up, this now seems to have cleared up for me.

Using Windows 7 and Android, both using Firefox browser. Interesting comment. I tried IE after reading it, and the black diamonds do not show up there, just in Firefox.

It’s a character set issue. Cut and paste from an article and their character set being different from FR’s. I typed this directly, so let’s see if I get apostrophes or we see a+hat/euro sign/tm symbol.

I'm seeing it on Firefox, Opera and IE. Couldn't even post an article because of all the garbage characters.
