Judge who freed ‘cop-killer’ apologizes: ‘I am truly sorry’

Now she’s sorry — five months after freeing the career drug dealer who is charged with murdering Police Officer Randolph Holder. The hero cop’s death this week, by a bullet to the forehead during a shootout in East Harlem, “breaks my heart,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Patricia Nuñez said Friday. “I know. I am truly sorry,” Nuñez said sadly when a Post reporter reminded her about the 33-year-old cop’s devastated family.

“And I will speak on the record” at sentencing, she added, referring to suspect Tyrone Howard’s Nov. 12 court date in a 2014 drug-sale case — the very one she had “resolved” in May by sending the gangbanger to rehab instead of jail, despite his history of three similar felony sale convictions and the advice of prosecutors. Nuñez then paused as she sat in her car outside her parking garage in The Bronx.

Liberals have been making a big push over the past couple of years to reduce the inmate population nationwide. Expect much more of this type of thing.

Incarcerating a thug is expensive, but the expense of them roaming the streets is far worse.

Instead of releasing convicts to free up prison space, they should start executing the top tier of violent and trouble making prisoner as required to suit needs. This would serve two purposes. First and most obvious, it does away with the need for more prison space while assuring a cell for every convict. Second, it would make a much better behaved prison population.

Sure it won't be done and is unconstitutional, but who the hell pays any attention to the constitution anymore?

The scary part is they (Obama, Holder, liberal groups, the media, SJW’s) don’t even pretend it’s about prison space, they openly admit they just don’t want that many people in prison (because it’s racist or mean or something).

I agree. Make them liable, just like for doctors.

I’m sorry? What happened to “I don’t have a crystal ball”, genius?

She should be removed from the bench, disbarred, then hanged.

They’d be OK with “that many” in prison ONLY IF it were proportionate to the population.

It should standard procedure that if a judge at his discretion gives out a lenient sentence, he should be removed from the bench if the perp commits a serious offence.

Sorry, Judge, but cuing up Brenda Lee's I'm Sorry is of little consolation to the family and friends of the murdered police officer.

His blood is on your Liberal bleeding-heart hands.

An apology? Too little, too late.

She needs to resign.

Then she needs to be tried as an accessory to murder.

So I rob a bank and just say, I’m so sorry, and I’m no longer accountable? She was an accomplice to the murderer and should be held responsible for same. Yes...jail time!

Hey genius, you didn’t need a crystal ball to figure out that this subhuman miscreant needed to be permanently removed from society. At this point my question to this “Judge” is exactly how she remembers to breath?
