It would be great if they played “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” at the start of sporting events.

Yup.

Along that line, “Golden Country” by REO Speedwagon is about the US, and certainly a well and powerfully performed tune, far better than anything Springsteen ever did, but I would not call it “patriotic”

” it is worth reading Slash and Steven Adlers books.”

I highly recommend the Duff McKagan book too. He became pro-business too as he eventually went to night school and took up accounting classes because he was horrified how much the IRS was taking from him.

here in L.A, I know exactly where the original apartment they all stayed in near Sunset.

couldn’t get through more than a few seconds of it bro. I worked in those towers twice. I gave blood in New York that day. They took down my beautiful towers. They blew up my beautiful towers those f****** bastards and now we have one in the White House
there was never a more beautiful view than the skyline from the Staten Island Ferry looking to New York and they took them away. God damn that whole region. Trump wanteds them to build them the way they were. Because Trump has common sense. That piece of s*** needle they built looks ridiculous. Those m************ took my towers and Saudi Arabia isn’t even ashes.

It’s not Rock and Roll, but my choice is “In America” by Charlie Daniels.

Yes, great tune, not what I would call “Rock & Roll”, but we sure need another “revival” spirit to arise like that...

Yes, that Springsteen song was an anti-American as any ever written. Never understood the appeal of that song. Or Springstein, for that matter. His daughter will likely make the Olympic show jumping team as well. Such a patriot. Go Amerika.

huge Guns N Roses fan. First and then Led Zeppelin. I know people will kill me because of that one. And I was 18 when they started to rock and roll
kind of old to pick a favorite band. I hated them at first. And now I listen to them all the time they are fantastic it’s a shame they broke up. if they go on tour I would pay quite a fee to see them. Back off b**** don’t cry think about you night train and on and on.

I would classify that as Southern Rock.

Charlie Daniels - Late 1970's - In America

Oh yeah, I remember reading about Vancouver.

I never saw GnR past the original lineup. Appetite was and still is one of my favorite albums, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the Illusion disks and by that time wasn’t going to concerts near as much anyway. Well, at least the ones I went to I remember a bit better lol.

Think back to around the mid to late 80’s and I can safely say I’ve seen every hard rock, glam metal, heavy metal and even death/black metal act that made any waves at the time - though it is all quite a blur now. Everything from Motley Crue countless times (along with any other band like Poison or Whitesnake that attracted a lot of chicks), to Dokken, Ratt, King Diamond, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slayer, etc, etc. Me and my group of friends basically went to every show we could from big arenas to the smaller clubs. Even saw folk bands like the Grateful Dead dozens of times before Jerry died.

My first concert was actually Judas Priest in 1982. It was the first leg of their Screaming for Vengeance tour.

Dude, I know the guy who does the “finance’ stuff for Slash. It’s almost a done deal for next year. Once I get tickets I might break down and cry LOL

Battle of New Orleans. I couldn’t find any on the Battle of Long Island or Trenton. My ancestors were there.

“G-d Gave Rock n Roll To Ya” by KISS. I like the non-vulgar reference to the Almighty. After all, we are one nation, under G-d. No direct reference to America, but I like the vibe, and I like the source, pro-American (libertarian?) Gene Simmons.
