I feel like I’m committing a crime as a millennial nerd completely uninterested in this movie.

Don’t you want to know who gets the girl?
Given today’s environment, doesn’t the guy become the girl?
Or another girl gets the girl.
:]
Actually, I’m more psyched about the new Star Trek movie. But, different strokes.......
meh...guess I’m no longer a fan of the story line. Just another alternate propaganda at work.
I was a big star wars fan (my nick is an obscure SW reference) until Lucas destroyed the whole thing. I am glad he is out of the loop now. I am hopeful this will be a better movie but Abrams could also screw it up even worse if that is possible.
Zero interest on the new Treks as well.
I never finished Nemesis, I hated it so much. Only watched the first “reboot” once, not the one after that.
This is someone that owns TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager on DVD and BluRay.
I think you misinterpreted me. I'm MORE excited about the new Star Trek movie than I am about Star Wars. Like you, I never really cared for any of the spin offs to the original Star Trek but I've really enjoyed these last two "prequel" movies featuring the original crew (Kirk, Spock, Bones, etc.) as youngsters. I didn't get into any of the Star Wars movies after The Empire Strikes Back.
I'll bet they're spending almost as much money to promote this movie as Jeb Bush is spending on his campaign.

They’ll get more for their money than Jeb Bush’s donors.

No. Since the first two they’ve been dreadful. Amazing special effects but dreadful.
I haven’t seen any of the “reboot” Treks, because I just can’t muster enough interest to care. I saw some clips and said,”Meh.” I saw all the new Star Wars films and found them to be okay. Not horrible, but not great - just okay.
To each his own, for all of us on FR that is, as for me I will see it twice with my friends.
I just have feeling of dread with Disney at the helm.
“Zero interest on the new Treks as well.”
The first reboot had some questionable things in it (I despise time paradox movies, and transwarp beaming? please), but the 2nd one (Into Darkness) was pretty solid.
Abrams is known for some weird plot breaking stuff in his stories, I hope he is more careful with the Star Wars lore than he has been with Star Trek.
It is human nature to be wary I guess, I do not consider myself to be a PC guy but I try to see things with my own eyes first and then make a judgement, that is just me though.
Let me put it to you this way, I’ll wait until the movie is available for rent.
