DroneDefender Is An Anti-Drone Death Ray That Can Shoot UAVs Out Of The Sky With Radio Waves

The impunity of drone operators may have run its course, as a science and technology firm has just unveiled means to reign in rogue UAVs (Unmanned Air Vehicles). This drone ray gun accosts drones without having to use kinetic force.
Not only have drones flown ahead and out of reach of proper legislation, the UAVs have also skirted around just about every technology except for firearms. And even then, those firearms have to be in the hands of skilled marksmen who'll likely have to answer questions from the authorities for licking shots into the air.
So research and development firm Battelle has created a man-portable, and woman portable too, battle rifle, the DroneDefender that uses radio waves to disrupt the communications between drones and their remote drivers.
"This is just the kind of tool we need to safely counter a drone threat," said Dan Stamm, senior researcher who led development of the ray gun. "The DroneDefender can help protect us from those who may wish to do us harm."

Hmmmm....Food for thought....I can’t walk down the street with a real gun, but I bet if I walked down the street with one of these the thugs would leave me alone :-)

And for the drones that fly preprogrammed courses without need for a remote driver?
I can just imagine a failsafe balloon opens up if drone gets zapped.
Thing is many many years ago they made clockwork servo controls for amateur rc aircraft, terrorists can do the same, use nitro fuel, no electrical controls at all, just a programmed clockwork much like a music box.
Kinda goes both ways, freedom to own a drone in defiance while at the same time knowing terrorists are thinking the same thing.
What we need obviously is a civilian drone air force, hundreds of armed drones working together, some have air to air offensive abilities, some are video recon, some are bombers.
A nuclear airburst will disrupt their circuitry.
Of course, it would also cause other incidental damage.
An EMP of high enough power would fry the electronics.
I'd love to have detailed plans for such a device.

I don't like warriors. Too narrow-minded, no subtlety. And worse, they fight for hopeless causes. Honor? Huh! Honor's killed millions of people, it hasn't saved a single one. Tell you what I do like though: a killer. A dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold-blooded, clean, methodical and thorough. Now a real killer, when he picked up the ZF-1, he would have immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.
