Heres the good news: The chaos and upheaval we see all around us have historical precedents and yet America survived. The bad news: Everything likely will get worse before it gets better again. Thats my chief takeaway from Shattered Consensus, a meticulously argued analysis of the growing disorder. Author James Piereson persuasively makes the case there is an inevitable revolution coming because our politics, culture, education, economics and even philanthropy are so polarized that the country can no longer resolve its differences. To my knowledge, no current book makes more sense about the great unraveling we see in each days headlines. Piereson captures and explains the alienation arising from the sense that something important in American life is ending, but that nothing better has emerged to replace it.

They will get what the deserve.
If not in this life, then in the next.
dear dp0622,
re:
“Im from NYC. My idea of prepping is jumping in the East River if things get too bad.
Dont know if the sewage or drowning will get me first.”
I am not sure if you knew this, but the old 1970’s joke from The Tri-State Area was:
“You can walk on water here. Just go out on the East River, all the old ‘family members and friends’ will keep your feet dry.”
I won't go that far. Heck I began life as a lofo Democrat voter, myself. I have to draw the line where folks are STILL supporting the LibDemCommies, even after all the evidence is in.
It's a good thing I moved my family from my native California to Texas ten years ago. The family barely spoke to me then, because of my conservative politics, but now they act like I've moved to Alpha Centauri.
It's just as well. I don't have the stomach to make nice with people who support America's domestic enemies -- even if they're family.
It's coming. Frankly, I think it is in the works. People can't apply the lessons of history because they have become involved at an emotional level and reason has fled--just like last time.
The Other One will be equally dangerous to the Republic.
“Anyone in my family that has ever voted (D) is disowned and ignored. “

Well, really only about 1/5th are deserving of that. 66 million voted for Zero. That’s frightening enough.
Tell ‘em if they really want to spoil you, stop voting wrong.

Semper fi, brother. Talking to my 94 year old mom in FL. She’s in independent living in a retirement home and someone(s) wrote in the log book “If you vote for Trump, you’re stupid”. Mom’s not an R; but she was angry and will report it to the office in the AM.
