I used to watch this when I was a kid.
The Kroffts swear up and down that the show was NOT influenced at all by drugs of any kind.
Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure.

Witchypoo and Judy The Frog, too? It made next to no sense but it was fascinating to watch. I’d be honestly surprised if hallucinogens didn’t play some role, it was that strange.

So they are bringing it back for today’s audience? Which character is the gay one?

Nickelodeon to bring ‘H.R. Pufnstuf’ back to TV after 45 years
There isn’t enough dope(S) in the world to make this popular again.

I remember trying to watch this, but it was too weird for me. Catchy theme, though.

The Kroffts swear up and down that the show was NOT influenced at all by drugs of any kind. Pufnstuf totally does not sound like anything drug-related. Not in the slightest.

I don’t think I ever actually watched it but that song still is in my mind.
“H.R. Puffnstuff, Whose your friend when things get rough?” Or is it tough? can’t recall for sure.

ROFL! We’ve recently thought about this show. For me, I never forget songs from the shows back then, etc.
If they are doing “new” versions, though, you can guarantee they will have at least one of the following:
a) potty humor/related (including using foul phrases in “masked” form)
b) environmental indoctrination
c) “Spanish” indoctrination

The Kroffts swear up and down that the show was NOT influenced at all by drugs of any kind. Hard to imagine anyone coming up with that stuff without a lot of chemical assistance. One thing's for sure, the Krofft brothers had a unique style. I remember visiting the Six Flags park near Atlanta in the '73 - '74 time frame, and seeing a pseudo Bre'r Rabbit attraction that was obviously designed by those guys. There were no signs identifying Sid and Marty as being responsible, I just *knew*.

Is this going to be left wing, like Disney did with the Muppets? Is Witchiepoo going to be a Fox news fan?
Personally, "Lidsville" was my favorite Krofft show.
