Today is one of the biggest days of the year for Microsoft and to start out the event they rattled off some impressive numbers. The most impressive is 110 million installations of Windows 10. This lines up well with the reports we had already heard but this 110 million number is officially from Microsoft on the biggest stage.
Here are some other impressive stats mentioned by Terry Myerson.
* 1 billion visits to Windows 10 app store
* Developer revenue has increased four times since Windows 10s launch
* 650 billion web pages viewed with Microsoft Edge
* 1 billion questions asked to Cortana
* 8 million business PCs
These are quite impressive stats for Microsofts latest operating system. Well have plenty more news including coverage of all of Microsofts newest devices so stay tuned.
This means at lest 110 million crashes at some point.
Actually, I am more worried about the data on your computer they are collecting.
I still need to finish my win 10 online courses at MS virtual academy.
Yes!
What will they teach you, the_individual?
Made it in before the first 20 guys posting how the number is a lie because they installed it, and used it for a whole 13 seconds before switching to (insert OS here)!
As soon as I can,I will find someone to get me back to 7. I HATE 11! Something as simple as getting text to bold is beyond me.
I had an old computer that was dying. I got a new PC that has 7 and 10 features, but the email is the new stuff, and I want the old reliable, easy to use one. Other things irk me too. I have good eyes, but the print is insipid and there is no button to change it.
I’m an old fogie, I know, but why fix what isn’t broken!!!!!!!

Ok, how many percent of these 110 million installers actually switched back to an earlier version?
Exactly. Not that Microsoft hasn't also rolled out updates to Win 7 & 8 that also "share telemetry."
I haven’t had this many freezes and crashes since pre XP days. XP worked fine, Win 7 worked perfect, and 8.1 was relatively problem free. I guess I was getting lazy. ...What I do like about 10 is that it has all the touch screen advantages of 8.1, and for some of 10’s glitches, the touch screen has come in handy.
I have heard that the 10 series collects data from the individual computer and Microsoft then sells the collected data. I also heard one can block the ten from collecting data. Do you know about blocking data collection?
If you use the PC for communication, such as email, Web, Skype, then there is no reason to keep Windows. Those things work fine on Linux.
If you need to prepare an occasional document, use online services - Google Docs is free, MS Office Online is free. These work on any OS.
If you need the computer for serious, professional work, then you use the OS that runs your business software.
Heh, yeah, well... it's just a number. They'll make their billion installs, I guarantee it. Meanwhile, I'm kinda burned out on the incremental updates (90M! 100M! 110M! 120M!). Tell me when it (whatever "it" is) reaches 500M. Or better yet, let's forget all about it until "it" hits the actual goal, eh?
Windows 10 is launched, it'll be climbing for a good long while. But I'm REALLY glad Microsoft is doing some great stuff on the hardware side. The Surface Book is pretty nice.
I rather go back to XP so my old games play properly.
I love Linux mint 17.2. Fastest OS I ever used.
A whole bunch of videos on administration, shell/kernel, virtualization, networking and the usage of win 10, they have a whole bunch of things on there.
