FOREST ACRES, SC (WIS) -
Police in Forest Acres confirmed at a noon news conference that an officer with the Forest Acres Police Department was killed in a shooting Wednesday morning. The suspect has also been arrested in connection with the case.
"What a tragic day here in Forest Acres," Police Chief Gene Sealy said to start the news conference. "This morning we had one of our police officers shot and killed."
The officer, identified as Officer Greg Alia, 32, was a graduate of Richland Northeast High School and a 7-year veteran of the force. He was married and just had a baby boy with his wife.
