Probably figured he needed to get some forgiveness from the Pope for what a horrible dunce he’s been all these years.

Also note: Boehner is the one who invited the Pope to come to America in the first place, so he delayed his retirement for 9 months just to meet the Pope.

I had a cousin who expressed his pride that he’d been invited to the White House. He wondered why I wasn’t upbeat about the news.

“Yeah, but it’s Clinton,” I said.

“Still, it’s the White House. It’s the President.”

“Yeah, but it had to be *this* president.”

I’d feel the same way about an audience with *this* pope.

Either that or he resigned now to give himself some time to get away from the consequences of what he wrought.

In his televised announcement at around 1:10 this afternoon, Boehner called him “Pope Prancis”.

Still drinking on the job, I guess because Boehner likes the whiskey voice it gives him.

Maybe the Pope offered him a better job as the head wine steward at the Vatican.

Just wow.

Boehner makes sure that Planned Butcherhood is funded for another year all the while anticipating a meeting with the Pope.

This just goes to show you the character of Boehner, and the Pope. If the Pope were really pro-life, he would have refused to entertain Boehner.

Anything that Boehner says that he was planning to leave in the past is NOTHING MORE THAN A LIE. He simply realized he was on the cusp of being voted out as Speaker, so he was getting out while “the getting was good”. He’ll now make a ton of money from his K Street pals.
