A 1-year-old girl was left alone on a Louisiana beach as her parents jogged -- while naked -- three to four miles away, according to news reports.

Cody and Monique Bourgeois were arrested on charges of child desertion and obscenity two hours after the child was found, KATC TV reports. The baby was turned over to her paternal grandmother, Johnson said.

Cameron Parish Sheriff Ron Johnson told KPLC TV drug abuse is suspected and child protective services has been called to investigate.

There is a beach on Grand Isle. Looks like there is a narrow one between Lake Calcasieu and the Texas line. It must have been the latter one that they were on.

From other sources, it sounds like they may have jogged a while with the baby, got tired of carrying her and left her on the beach. She was found two miles from their Ford Explorer which had been left running. The so called parents were found 3-4 miles from the baby. Thankfully, they didn’t leave the baby in the vehicle.
