I guess she threw all of his clothes out except for his swim trunks, then. LOL! I would be asking Travis to borrow some of his clothes so that I could ditch the old man’s clothes!

Yea, I don’t get why Nick still wore the old man clothes - he had swim trunks at home but no old clothes? The writers or producers or whoever really screw up badly sometimes on the little stuff.

And maybe they don't want to be in a camp. In those cases they are avoiding the govt - so in this case why signal?

That's a hell of a point!

Frankly, I don't have any answers that aren't strained.

The writers of these zombies shows really let the viewer down, in my opinion. Sometimes we see a lot of plot induced stupidity - just stuff that makes no sense and is designed to move the plot along.

We saw people arriving as refugees so they clearly are taking people in. But then we are told they are shooting people or not letting people go into the infected zone (I assume that means areas over run with zombies).

So I am confused. Did the person want to be rescued? But if they are hiding from the military they would not signal into a military base. Is it unsafe for them to be on the street? If so the mom went out on recon and found dead bodies, guns on the ground and no zombies.

I think she hinted at the fact the military is killing non zombie humans. Thinning the heard? Again, if that is true, why signal into the base of the guys going to kill you?

Also, we assume the military killed the person sending the light flashes. It could have been looters.

Or the person sending the light flashes might have won the fire fight, against soldiers or looters.

Or, he was shooting at zombies.

You know I kind of have a emergency bag but my danger is weather related (others may live in earth quake zones, etc).

I think I will print myself up a Morse Code guide and laminate it for my kit. Maybe tape it to the outside of an Altoid tin can.

Thanks for that. You’re exactly right and people need to be reminded of that and that includes me.

I thought the same thing about the swim trunks. Mom should have picked some clothes off the street for the whole family when she went on her walkabout, along the pistol!

Pretty darn coinky-dinkle coming right after Travis reported it to the CO (who I think is playing dumber than he is).

I have to tell you, as corny as Z Nation is - it is a riot and way more fun and sometimes way more believable as a post apocalyptic landscape than The Walking Dead.

The gun was covered in blood. She is maybe afraid of the virus. The husband is the squeamish one - she based the principals head in.

We don't know if the authorities had a good reason to kill the "flasher". Because the opening scene shows them taking in refugees. So they clearly are not killing refugees. It makes no sense - probably won't have any answers.

Just thinking to myself. We are seeing how a suburban family is dealing with this.

Anyone remember the Koreans fighting back against the looters in the LA Rodney King riots?

I have a feeling the ethnic parts of Los Angeles like the Koreans and others would form self defense clusters like that. They would be wary of help from the govt or unsure how to get it and in any case many have military training - pretty bad ass training for South Korean vets.

Mexicans - while I wish they would all leave - do have construction and mechanical skills and landscape skills - so they can survive better than a suburban family. Inner city gangs? They are stupid as rocks but are well armed and don't mind killing and looting.

So the mental take way I get is suburbanites would be the first to die off. Either as zombie bate or as victims of armed roaming gangs. Even well armed suburbanites are kind of trapped by the way their neighborhoods have been planned. The El Salvadorian dad was right - they were too late to escape. If they left they would maybe be able to survive on their own for a long time if they had a wilderness cabin they used for vacations.

If you are a prepper when to leave is the hardest to predict.

Because the opening scene shows them taking in refugees. So they clearly are not killing refugees.

That submit to their rules. Those that refuse could easily be seen as competition.

What if they enforced a no firearms policy? Would you still opt for the camp?

The dead guy was not a walker but even if he was you would have left the gun there?

when to leave is the hardest to predict

yup.

Few takeaways that I thought were good....

1. Don't trust the gov't. Ever. Especially when "They're here to help".

2. Salvadorian Dad said, "When it happens, it will happen very quickly". Truer words were never spoken.

3. Actors: "Guns are BAD!!!!"

Audience: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahaha....."

4. Did I mention, don't trust the government?

This is a pretty subversive, and conservative series. Makes me wonder if the actors realize what a conservative message that they're preaching.

Remember Madison at the school? Tobias urged her to take some supplies, and she shrugged and said, “We have food.” I wonder how much is left by now.

Aren’t there supposed to be fifteen episodes next season? I’ll be glad to see them have to leave their neighborhood and hit the road.

Was it Alicia who was pulling a child’s wagon that had a few cases of MREs in it? At least they have some food other than what’s in their pantry.

It will be interesting to watch Travis.

Yeah, he’s a clown now, but the writers keep dropping all these little hints as to how he could become the West Coast Rick.
