Just thinking to myself. We are seeing how a suburban family is dealing with this.

Anyone remember the Koreans fighting back against the looters in the LA Rodney King riots?

I have a feeling the ethnic parts of Los Angeles like the Koreans and others would form self defense clusters like that. They would be wary of help from the govt or unsure how to get it and in any case many have military training - pretty bad ass training for South Korean vets.

Mexicans - while I wish they would all leave - do have construction and mechanical skills and landscape skills - so they can survive better than a suburban family. Inner city gangs? They are stupid as rocks but are well armed and don't mind killing and looting.

So the mental take way I get is suburbanites would be the first to die off. Either as zombie bate or as victims of armed roaming gangs. Even well armed suburbanites are kind of trapped by the way their neighborhoods have been planned. The El Salvadorian dad was right - they were too late to escape. If they left they would maybe be able to survive on their own for a long time if they had a wilderness cabin they used for vacations.

If you are a prepper when to leave is the hardest to predict.

yup.

Few takeaways that I thought were good....

1. Don't trust the gov't. Ever. Especially when "They're here to help".

2. Salvadorian Dad said, "When it happens, it will happen very quickly". Truer words were never spoken.

3. Actors: "Guns are BAD!!!!"

Audience: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahaha....."

4. Did I mention, don't trust the government?

This is a pretty subversive, and conservative series. Makes me wonder if the actors realize what a conservative message that they're preaching.
