Two years ago a 71 old acquaintance of mine, a Vietnamese emigre, got me to take him around to get his physical and his paperwork together to get ready to go back to Viet Nam. His English was not good. He knew a lot of it and understood English but his pronunciation was only understandable to me because I had got used to it over 16 years. He was an interesting character and, to put it nicely, hard to get along with. He had run through 4 wives, two had left him, one he kicked out, and one had died. He had yet another wife now in Viet Nam he had married the year before and was spending 6 months here and 6 months there. At the clinic where he got his physical he told me to tell the doctor not to omit his Viagra. I told him that he should not be using that stuff because he was too old and had a bad heart. He brushed it off and said it was his "right" to use Viagra. I said it would kill him. He said,"I'm strong." He was strong. He had put another much younger man on the ground with black eyes and a broken rib who had attacked him at a bar.
Well he got his Viagra and went to his bride in Viet Nam. I heard nothing from him for two months then his niece approached me at church and said, "Khan, he die." Her son snickered and said he expired, "in the act."
I tried to tell him.
