Starting to think Texas is trying to outdo Floriduh in the whacked-out news stories segment on tabloid tv...

Be interesting to know if the kid did this on 9-11.

Send Ahmed Mohammed back to Krapistan and let him wire up his “experiments” there.

Regardless of his inquisitiveness, I’d call this “Precursor Interest and Training.”

Couple this with his family’s background and the stated political desire of his father (e.g., returning to mother wherever to run for President), and I don’t find the reactions of the school authorities one bit over reactionary.

Is this the same city where they just voted not to have that Sharia compliant court thing?

Ya know, in the early 70’s in Junior High School, we MADE things that BLOW UP IN SCHOOL!, intentionally to make sure ALL the Students were careful not to Blow themselves up. The most fun was Shop Class, Every Semester we Made Acetylene Balloon Bombs and LIT THEM to demonstrate what would happen if you left the gas on your torch on!

The kid’s story just doesn’t make sense to me. He wanted to impress his teachers about his skills but didn’t show it to a teacher until she heard it? A kid who wanted to do a project would usually tell a teacher beforehand and THAT specific teacher would have known when he was going to bring it in. FWIW.. the whole “Islamaphobic” stuff is bull. My own kids had to show a cardboard sword wrapped in aluminum foil to the Security guard (a prop for a Shakespeare play in Honors English). All schools are concerned about weapons/suspected weapons from white/black/asian/hispanic/fill in the blank... it’s not ONE group.

Texas has developed an overabundance of law enforcement. I would estimate we have a third again more than we can justify.
They keep inventing new things to do ( things they used to do like sitting with lights on behind someone changing a tire on a rainy night they now outright refuse to do) and it’s easy for groups like the teachers union or BATF to draw them into any sort of craziness.

Ahmed’s father is upset and the Council on American-Islamic Relations eyeing claims of Islamophobia in Irving, Texas.

Texas has the first Sharia Court, triumphal mosque, and Asian Immersion School in the US. How'd that happen?

Circa 2003: then-Gov Rick Perry advances Muslim
teachings; builds mosque; sets up Texas Sharia Court

Then-Gov Rick Perry signs agreement with the Aga Khan--Muslim leader.

“It is a great honor to be in the presence of the Imam of 16 million Muslims around the world, a global humanitarian leader, a man of peace with a pluralistic vision for people around the world, His Highness, the Aga Khan, the 49th Hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.

Your Highness, on behalf of 23 million Texans, and over 600,000 thousand Muslims living in Texas, I extend our heartfelt appreciation for your 50 years of great international leadership."

"We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness’ work and leadership.”

In April 2004, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Univ of Texas-Austin finalized a grant proposal that created the partnership that became known as the Muslim Histories and Cultures Program (MHC).

MHC recruited and directly trained 80 teachers affecting approximately 15,150 students of World History and World Geography in ten key Texas districts in 2005 and 2006.

The purpose is two-fold 1) to fulfill Governor Rick Perry’s desire to better educate Texas teachers on Muslim topics and 2) to train teachers to use a cultural lens approach to understanding other cultures.

GOVERNOR'S OFFICE: Governor Perry was instrumental in getting this program off the ground (and was helpful in getting a triumphal mosque built in Texas, and placing Sharia Law in the Texas justice system). ####

the Council on American-Islamic Relations is once again eyeing claims of Islamophobia in Irving.

Islamophobia: fear of a genocidal cult. Sounds like common sense to me.

Well, when people of his common heritage stop blowing people up in the name of their religion,

then he’ll stop being arrested for homemade “clocks”.

Could be one reason America is so bad at STEM training in schools — if kids show aptitude, we arrest them.

A kid wearing a NASA teeshirt, member of the robotics club, misses his student council meeting because he was arrested in a government school for bringing a simple circuit that devised to tell time. Seriously, guys, if you don’t give this guy the presumption of innocence, I’d say there’s some pretty distorted prejudice. His accusers are government school teachers and Irving cops. Both groups routinely blow things way out of proportion: government school teachers with zero tolerance nonsense, and Irving cops with unwarranted roadside cavity searches (aka, raping citizens).

At 11 a.m. CDT, the Irving cops and school system have a press conference. We may just learn the facts of the matter then.
