Rush is right again.
Once a liberal onslaught against a politically incorrect symbol begins, they just don't ever, ever, ever give up.
Eleanor Holmes Norton, a real brainiac.

The whole world is being turned upside down and the Congress is more worried about a football team unbelievable.

Because we have solved all of the country’s problems we can now get down to legislating about politically correct minutia.

Because there are no other issues in the world.
I wish the house speaker would just say, “This is non of our F&*king business. We have more important things to do. Having the house in session costs $20,000 per hour. Why waste time on this crap.”

Why is this more pertinent than the hundreds of other ethnic team names across this land of ours? Because it’s inside the beltway? Or is this just the thin end of the wedge? (By the way, I’m Irish and am wounded by Notre Dame.)

The District of Columbia's congresswoman Lie.
Elanor Holmes Norton is a non-voting delegate to the House of Representatives. IOW, she's a powerless professional blabbermouth, and doesn't even rise to the (low) level of "Congressman".
Hail to the Redskins!

“District of Columbia’s congresswoman” - since when?
The last time I looked the District had an observer, not full pledged voting representative. A quick trip to Wikipedia confirms that the District has NO REPRESENTATION in the House or Senate. For years District residents had a phrase to describe their “plight” - “Taxation without Representation”
So, who really introduced this legislation? Or, if the “District of Columbia’s congresswoman” did so, how?
The Constitution has never allowed the District to have seat in either house of Congress - something about a self-basting turkey comes to mind.

The District of Columbia's congresswoman on Thursday introduced a bill to strip the NFL of its federal antitrust protection as long as it allows Washington's football team to use the name "Redskins," a moniker some see as racist. Because God knows Congress has nothing more important to spend their time on than the name of the Washington freakin' Redskins.
