Apple today announced the all-new Apple TV, bringing a revolutionary experience to the living room based on apps built for the television. The new Siri Remote dramatically simplifies how you select, scroll and navigate through your favorite content while bringing unique interactivity to the new Apple TV by using a glass touch surface that handles both small, accurate movements as well as big, sweeping ones. Adding touch to Apple TV creates a natural, connected experience, even if the TV screen is on the other side of the room. Developers can take advantage of the built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, and the touch surface on the Siri Remote to create games and other app experiences that have never been seen on TV before.

No, you cannot say that Apple got out of the hardware business which makes you more delusional. . . because Apple DESIGNS their hardware and manages it's manufacture, and sells hardware as their primary business. Amazon does not. It is not their primary business. Amazon is a RESELLER and a CONSIGNMENT SELLER.
FoxConn builds to Apple's specific designs including all engineering and Apple even specific chips and processors. Amazon does not. If Amazon were to continue designing their hardware, then they would not be laying off their engineers. Apple is building a huge new building to house their engineers, capable of holding 30,000 employees.
Have you ever been in business? As for your claim that Kindle is the number one e-book reader, your own links claim that Amazon Tablets, which now are the Kindle, only claimed 1% of the market. The facts just don't bear you out. Amazon has never published ANY of their sales numbers for these products. Frankly, we simply don't know.

Only in your mistaken mind. I know exactly how I bought and traded iPhones and kept prices of my phones low. YOU haven't a clue how total cost of ownership worked. The math worked. Kindle Readers have been being rooted for years and made into tablets, Mad Dawgg. They are essentially crippled Android tablets. I am suggesting the evidence shows they are getting out of the business of designing their own hardware in favor of reference designs from Chinese manufacturers who can do it easier and cheaper than can Amazon can on their own. I am not the only one suggesting this scenario. It is a perfectly viable means of doing business.
Please point to one published statistic from Amazon on the number of e-readers, Amazon Fire products sold of any type. You will not find it. They have NEVER, ever published such statistics and, in fact, have like you avoided answering any direct questions.

Where is your evidence of that "50 buck tablet" before Christmas other than rumors from unknown "knowledgable people"? I've told you that anyone of any competence analyzing that claim has to come to the conclusion that if they ARE going to release an Amazon Tablet for that kind of price, it has to be a "reference" tablet made by a no-name Chinese manufacturer who will put Amazon's name on it and load Amazon's fork of Android into it. That's the only way it can be manufactured and sold for that price and still have a reasonable quality product. Even then it's going to be pretty junky. That is just the economics of the process.

As for the iPad Jeppesen Flight bag, it DID NOT SHUT DOWN THE IPAD. Which I told you at the time of the event. Jeppesen admitted they goofed and their software could not handle a duplicate map of Reagan National Airport which a technician had accidentally included in the database. . . causing their software to blank the screen. The solution was to delete and re-install the software. It was NOT a problem with iOS, nor did the app "power down" the iPad.
"The errant extra map was in the Jeppesen digital flight bag app used by American's pilots on iPads since 2013, according to Michael Pound, a spokesman for Jeppesen. "The cause of the issue was a single duplicate chart for Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., in the chart database we supply to American. The version of the app they use is not able to reconcile duplicate charts, which caused the app to become unresponsive for those pilots who had 'favorited' National."— Errant App Caused iPad Problems for Some American Airlines Pilots
YOU refused to believe it was not a systemic problem and that Apple was covering it up and lying about the issue. YOU were delusional in the face of all the subsequent reports from the airline, Apple, and Jeppesen about what had happened.
The context is that all other touch screen devices of the period REQUIRED styluses for any detailed work, Tacticalogic. The iPhone was the first that did not, because it was designed as a multi-touch device and being capacitance touch was FAR MORE accurate than any that came before it. If the device required a stylus to use the touch screen for anything except gross touches, it was a failure from the get go. Steve Jobs original objection to styluses with devices was spoken in January 2008 in the presentation of the original iPhone:
"Who wants a stylus? You have to get 'em, put 'em away, you lose 'em, yuck. Nobody wants a stylus. So let's not use a stylus. We're going to use the best pointing device in the world. I have done graphics art for pay in the past, sometimes using a Wacom pad and stylus, which at ~$1600, will cost you 77% to 36% more than the combination of an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I can think of nothing close to $99 that can do what this Apple Pencil can do anywhere near that price point. . . or as easily with a single hand. Yet you ignorantly sit there and denigrate it as just a stylus like everyone else gives away with their phones and tablets? "Just a stylus?" Not by a long shot.
Now the paid marketer who claims to be super rich, an EX-CEO, and published author also claims to have done graphics art for pay on a Wacom pad. Oh, yes, that makes perfect sense, because someone who claims to deck their girlfriend out with no less than 30k in jewelry before leaving the house would certainly need to moonlight as a graphic artist.

I've done many of things in my life, bolobaby. I will soon be 68. I've been called a modern renaissance man by people who know me because I'm interested in everything and can converse on any and every subject from Microbiology to Cosmology to archaeology to Theology to Theosophy to Philosophy intelligibly because I am informed on almost everything because I am extremely well read. I am a voracious reader and I retain what I read and learn. I also know how to cut through the BS and dig to the raw data and analyze that.

I am a business man. I did the graphic art work as part of my cross platform consulting business for a client and I CHARGED money for my services (and yes, I got very well paid for my work!). I've taken art classes in college and one of my parody pieces on FreeRepublic was picked up and published in the book on bringing down Dan Rather with my copyright and credit. (The author of the book, one our fellow Freepers graciously gave me a signed copy of the book.) So what. It was not something I did full time for a living, but something I did as an adjunct of my business. Have you ever been in business? (Another question you have been dodging.) As a business person, you do what is necessary to keep your business going. When I was managing the two gun shops, I did the store displays art work and display ads for the newspapers. I also was the publicity director for the Choral group as well as a singer and did both the newspaper advertising display ads and programs, including covers. . . including the one for when we appeared in Carnegie Hall for the 100th Anniversary concert with the Manhattan Philharmonic Orchestra, I've also done wedding announcements and other small stuff for friends. I am talented and when people asked me to do it, I did it, sometimes for pay. When my business's graphics artist was on vacation, the artwork needed to be done, so I did the work. (Frankly, my work was better than hers.) The client was extremely happy. Again, so what?
Is there anything FALSE in the $1600 price of that Wacom Tablet and Wacom stylus? The one I used was less expensive because it was several years ago and prices were less. If I recall correctly, it was in the neighborhood of $900 or so and worked with one of our Macs. How does that impact the truth of what I wrote? I used it. I owned it as part of my business' equipment. YOU can't believe facts when presented to you because YOU would LIE, and do, to make your points.

Hell, we went to the Vampire Halloween Ball in Roseville, CA, a couple of years with the them of Dark Shadows as Count Dracula and his Consort, Countess Katerina of Transylvania, and my girlfriend was wearing over $100K in jewelry. If you look, you will find us there among the attendees. Our photographs are there (#81 on Yelp). We just got her a Sapphire and Diamond pendant (2.07 carats of diamonds, 16 carats of matched sapphires, and 21 grams of 18K yellow gold) just last weekend valued at around $12,000 (we didn't pay that much for it. . . got it at quite a bargain!) while we were on a weekend trip to the Seattle area for the holiday.
Too bad you can't fly to SeaTac on a lark and buy such things. . . and are stuck buying junk costume jewelry. If you're ever in Seattle, you might want to check out the place where we got the pendant and pick up a gift for Mrs. bolobaby: Nique Design Jewelers, 201 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, Washington. The CEO of Alaska Airlines uses them exclusively and featured them in their airline's magazine in an article written by the CEO, he was so impressed by their unique pieces. We just sort of accidentally found it on Monday afternoon while driving around killing time before turning in our rental car. Hint, take lots of money. I don't recall seeing anything on display for under three grand. But then, we didn't look at the cookie cutter stuff, although they didn't seem to have to much of that kind of jewelry in this store.
Nice town, but wouldn't want to live there. Too many liberals. Like San Francisco, they don't allow left turns. Why? My theory is that the town is so liberal you simply can't go any further left.
Another strange thing. . . I think that during the four days we were there, I could count the times I saw these Liberal pukes use turn signals on the fingers of two hands. It seems to be a local aversion to that little lever on the steering wheel. Also the Freeway speed limit is 60 MPH everywhere. They seem to obey that one. No speeding. . . but I think they have speed cameras on the Freeways. . . and cameras for their Diamond lanes, too.
Had dinner at the restaurant in the Space Needle. Total bill with tip was $270 for two. Food was mediocre Cisco re-constituted microwaved crap, but service was great. . . and you are really paying for the view. If they would hire a chef, it would be packed every night and be worth it.
The Boeing Factory Tour is fascinating. . . and we went to the EMP to see the Science Fiction and LooneyToons museums. The RockNRoll section was a bonus. . . as was the exhibit of all the Star Wars costumes from the six movies.
My girlfriend collects original Erté (Romain de Tirtoff) Bronze sculptures, jewelry, and Serigraphs. He was the principle costume designer from the Ziegfield Follies and Folies Bergère and one of the primary originators of the Art Deco movement.
She did not know that many of the Star Wars costumes, especially the women's, were inspired by Erté! She was in seventh heaven.

They had been having priblems with functionality and lackluster sales and they had been out of stock since June. Amazon had just laid off dozens of their design engineers. I linked to articles coming to similar conclusions.
Swordmaker is a paid Apple marketer, which he vehemently denies. Frankly, if he’s not, that’s even scarier. Anyone who shills for Apple the way he does *should* be getting paid. If they’re not, they have the worst case of delusional product fanboy-itis in history and should probably be institutionalized.
