The husband of Ginger Alden, known throughout the world as Elvis Presley’s fiancé and the last person to see him alive on August 16, 1977, passed away on the 38th anniversary of the singer’s death.

“I have some very very tragic and devastating news,” Rosemary Alden Starkey, sister of Ginger Alden Leyser posted on Facebook Monday evening. “Ginger's husband Ron passed away late evening of August 16th. We are all still in shock over his untimely passing. Please keep Ginger and her son Hunter and The Leyser Family as well as our Family in your thoughts and prayers. I am really at a loss for words as it has been so very traumatic. Thank you all.”

Just two days before the anniversary of Presley’s death, the beautiful Alden’s 8:18 pm, August 14, 2015 Facebook entry was a tribute to Elvis.

“On the 16th, we will remember and honor a man who changed many lives and for me and my family personally, it was a blessing to get to know him, love him and be a part of his life,” wrote Alden. “We remember many beautiful times, he brought such happiness to so many and although his time here with us was not long, he gave so very much of himself, loved his fans dearly and he would be so happy to see such support and love for him still. May God bless all of you with much peace, love, and new friendships made through Elvis, tlc, Ginger.”

Alden was a 20-year-old Memphis resident when she joined her older sister Terry, then the reigning Miss Tennessee beauty queen, to visit Presley at his home, Graceland. Smitten by Ginger, Elvis soon charmed her with a private jet flight to Las Vegas, jewelry, a Lincoln Continental, and shopping excursions. Terry now lives in St. Louis.

Ok I’m confuzzled LOL

Now who is dead? Did the husband found Elvis dead? Was Elvis finally found dead? Was Elvis’ world saddened by Ginger’s husband?

For crying out loud the Examiner need to have its employees take a grammar school again.

The whole darn article was not about Ginger Alden’s husband death but more of Elvis and her.

Sigh...........

She does strike a resemblance to Priscella. Glad she moved on and had a husband and a child.

RIP Ron

It is confusing. Ginger, I believe, was the last person to see Elvis alive before he died on his commodal throne (due to his terrible diet and pill habits). The man she later married (for whom this article is about) just happened to die on the same day her ex-beau Elvis did, albeit 38 years later, this past Sunday.

“(due to his terrible diet and pill habits)”

As i understand it, Heart disease ran on his mothers side of the family which he inherited genetically. This wasnt known or understood at the time of his death, but its known now.

The bad diet and pill abuse probably shaved just a few years off his lifespan. Chances are that if he hadnt abused pills and stuck to a more healthier diet, he still probably wouldnt have lived long enough to see 50.

geez...no kidding! I had to read the first line 3 times:

The husband of Ginger Alden, known throughout the world as Elvis Presley’s fiancé

say what? :) He was engaged to a dude?

I know Miss Gladys was only 46 when she passed (seems so young these days), just 4 years older than her son. Papa Vernon made it to 63 and had the sad duty of burying both his wife and 2 sons (including Elvis’ stillborn twin). Had he been more health conscious and vigilant about his heart, he might’ve still had 2 good decades left in him (and being in Memphis, he was close to good medical care). But, of course, we’ll never know for sure.

I note Lisa Marie is a year older than her grandma was when she died (47), which is hard to believe. Hopefully, she will have many more years left in her.
