TimTebow got a warm Philly welcome.
Tebow threw for 69 yards and ran for a touchdown in his first game in two years, Kenjon Barner returned a punt 92 yards for a touchdown and ran for a score and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Indianapolis Colts, 36-10, on Sunday.
Tebow got a standing ovation when he entered midway through the third quarter and the crowd roared so loud when his name was introduced he had to quiet them down because he was taking the snap in a shotgun.
He dove into the pylon on a seven-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter and finished with 15 yards rushing on four carries. He completed six of 12 passes and was sacked twice.
Tebow hadn't played since the 2013 preseason with New England until the Eagles (1-0) signed him to compete with Matt Barkley for the No. 3 spot behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez. Barkley was 12 of 20 for 192 yards and one interception.
Rookie first-round pick Nelson Agholor caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Sanchez. Bradford and All-Pro running back DeMarco Murray didn't play.
Playing their first game since losing to the Patriots in the AFC championship game that began the Deflategate saga, the Colts (0-1) didn't seem as if they prepared much for Philadelphia's up-tempo offense and they were missing several defensive starters.
But making sure players get reps is more important than scheming for a unique offense they're not going to see in the regular season.
Quarterback Andrew Luck completed five of six for 43 yards and left during the second series.
Tebow completed his first four passes. His first went for a five-yard gain and then he fired one over the middle to Eric Tomlinson for a 15-yard gain on third-and-12 play.

Whatever works for you.
It's about making huge money and bleeding taxpayers for gold plated facilities.
Don’t follow the news much I take it? Don’t let fanboism cloud you to the regular news stories of Deflate gate, Sam and the rest.
DISASTER.
Forget about the Redskins idiocy? The NFL is a mismanaged leftist front group. Sorry that upsets you.
Nice retort. You confirmed my assertion.
Yup. The Jack Lambert era Steelers and this NFL may as well be in different sports. Whole other NFL.
I am a Dawg fan and a Teebow fan.
please, please, please refrain from the go gators stuff on future Teebow threads. :-D
Confirmation bias.
I look at it from the standpoint that it’s a results based business and Tebow’s results aren’t actually any good. You brought up Vinnie Interceptiverdie, do you realize that as bad as Vinnie was his completion percentage is much better than Tebow’s.
Lots of guys who are fantastic in college stink in the NFL. There are 9 Heisman winners in the NFL HOF, that’s it. The games are actually very different.
It’s not an agenda. He’s just not good. Sure look at the Sam thing, he never played a single game of record in the NFL. Sorry but Sam’s total failure proves you’re wrong. If it was agenda driven he’d be a starter in spite of his lack of talent. Nobody played hardball with owners, he was a late 7th round draft pick, a time when teams take chances. And nobody kept him on a roster, he was on the PRACTICE squad for six weeks.
Sorry but reality is rather obvious here. It’s not agenda, it’s talent. Sam stinks and washed out hard. Tebow’s bad, and keeps washing out but his heart keep getting teams to give him a shot. I know the Tebow worshippers just can’t handle the truth, but that is the truth, Tebow is not an NFL caliber QB. Even his performance today shows it, he played mediocre against 3rd and 4th string players, most of the players on the field with him will be lucky to make the practice squad. And that includes him.
And that percentage took how many years for him to get to? Post his stats from his forts couple years and compare that. He was no star player. He blew goats.
Say with a straight face his christianity was meaningless and —then— say with a straight face Mike Sam’s gayness was meaningless to the NFL agenda.
Yes, the Jags have been really outstanding the last couple of years, haven’t they?
Of course the rumors are that owner there is searching for an excuse to move them to London. He’s denied that he’s planning on selling his soccer team there to facilitate such a move.
EDit...Tebow’s Christianity
Michael Sam was one of College footballs “best” also. SEC Defensive Player of the Year is a pretty big deal. Do you think he was “fixable” too? The NFL sure didn’t. He never even made a roster.
Your argument makes no sense. Tim Tebow had infinite more success than Michael Sam did. Sam got DRAFTED (barely). He never made a roster. There’s a vast difference.
Again, clearly, you’re demonstrating your football knowledge is limited at best.
Do you wanna reread what you wrote?
You just made my argument for me. The NFL bent over forwards to accommodate a guy that could not make a roster and crapcanned a player that did make the roster and managed a playoff win.
Now why oh why do you suppose that is?
If Sam couldn’t even MAKE the roster much less win a playoff game, which do you suppose would logic dictate a ‘results oriented’ business would expend the effort to keep?
That’s exactly why I want him to do well. I’m one pf those that despise the media so bad,I have blood coming out of my eyes, blood coming out of my ... wherever.
Bent over backwards? He got barely drafted, and then cut twice in the course of a year. You call that “bending over backwards?” It happens to hundreds of not-good-enough players every year.
You are making zero sense. “If Sam couldnt even MAKE the roster much less win a playoff game, which do you suppose would logic dictate a ‘results oriented’ business would expend the effort to keep?” Huh? They DIDN’T keep him. They CUT him. Do you even know the difference? HE NEVER MADE A ROSTER.
And as for Tebow winning a playoff game, google “Trent Dilfer”. He won the Super Bowl, got dumped a few months later, and was nothing but a backup for the rest of his career.
Relax. There is no grand conspiracy against Tim Tebow. Never has been. If there was, why would the Patriots and Eagles have signed him and given him a shot?. But, I’m thinking logical thinking isn’t your strong suit.
Nah...none of that actual history happened. There was nothing of the sort. All that NFL/Pro gay media, all the arm twisting of teams by the NFL, articles of which were daily on FR...to take him, all the propaganda from Barry...nope.
And the same in reverse that played out across all media every time Tebow’s name came up?
Figments of our imagination.
But YOU know the truth. We all had an audiovisual delusion.
Then answer this. Why did Michael Sam never even make a team? And why was Tim Tebow on a roster for 3 NFL seasons?
Because he was worth having until the agenda got in the way and Sam filled his purpose and was discarded like trash when no longer needed? Or more aptly when blowback became too expensive? Lets face it. Social engineering a primarily hetero sport isn’t a financial winner so why do it? WHY put the effort they did into it?
WHY???
If Tebow is so awful perhaps you’d like to explain yourself why he was on rosters for three years.
Again, thank you for wrecking your own argument for me.
Love TT but anything’s better than that dog killer, Vick.
Coach said he wa with the 3rd string and some players ran the wrong routes etc
